Good morning guys. Oh god it is so cold. Let me just tell you guys what I experienced yesterday, flying so far for the first time. At 2.20am left Malaysia to go to Abu Dhabi for transit before heading to Minsk. The flight was 8 hours and I was seated alone instead of with the others because my ticket was booked separately than theirs. The flight to Abu Dhabi was okay in general except for the crying babies surrounding me. I didn't get much sleep on the flight
In any case, after we landed, me and our manager ran to the transfer desk to ask for a second boarding pass to Belarus. We only had a 30 minutes window to get the pass and run to our gate so the time is quite tight. We made it regardless but if it weren't for the running, I think we would have been late with the line at the transfer desk building up behind us shortly after.
We met up with a south African caster scant at the airport. After a short wait, its time to board the flight again and here we go to Minsk. It was smooth sailing for the most part. Again, I was seated separately from the team but guess who was sitting beside me. Rotk and MMY! Haha. Had a small chat with them but that's about it.
In any case, due to the heavy snowstorm, we were unable to land in Minsk, so we ended up flying to neighbouring country Lithuania for a stop and fuel refill. As I was trap there in the plane, unable to get out, we were told that the minsk runway is clear, the runway is not clear and we are flying to Moscow (3 hours away, where we will likely to be deported to Istanbul because we have no transit visa) and then miraculously, we are going to Minsk. We were sitting in the plane for about 4 hours before we flew off again. Quite boring.
After we arrive in Minsk (30 minutes flight from Lithuania), I was surprised at the amount of snow on the runway and people clapped as we landed safely. It was such a dangerous land. It was snowing and we had to walk in the snow to get to the airport. WinteR was wearing slippers so that must be fun for him.
We took another 2 hours to make our visa at the airport and then took about an hour to get to the hotel. God, so tired and hungry. We ate at the restaurant before quickly going to sleep.
So that's all for what happened yesterday, the whole experience was not very pleasant but I'm still pumped for starladder! Let's go!
