Dear friends, this is "LANDSCAPE WITH A FAIRY", the first video from our new album "A LITTLE FABLE". It was an honour to have worked with several talented musicians - Junya Yanagidaira of ironomi lent his sparkling piano arpeggios, haruka nakamura added subtle dashes of guitar and Kyo Ichinose arranged these graceful string flourishes. I was also proud to have Seigen Tokuzawa on board, an accomplished cellist who has worked with many of my favourite artists. During the time of recording, i watched the string quartet perform the song with such gusto that i had to hold back tears. Thank you also to Yamamoto Tatsuya for lending his expertise at his recording studio Megurosoko.
We made this short movie of sorts last autumn. Director Rika M. Orrery, photographer Miu Nozaka and myself had trudged up the faraway hills of Kobe to a very mysterious, secluded little cottage called "Alice". The owners, whom we affectionately call Mr and Mrs Alice had created this secret world of their own, where only guests who knew of the place would come in for their home-baked confectionary and delicious beverages. The sound of their crackling fireplace still resonates. Besides Alice cafe, Rika M. Orrery took us to another secret spot of her own - a remote forest hued in the finest splendor of Autumn where we spent a very beautiful but chilly morning. As such, this is the outcome of these creative friendships, and a bizarre adventure to the hillsides and forests of Kobe.
