J. J. Abrams 的製片公司 Bad Robot 正在為 Warner 發展一部超人電影，且已經延攬著名的作家和漫畫編劇 Ta-Nehisi Coates 撰寫劇本。早先已經傳出這個版本的超人將會由黑人演員扮演，而 Hollywood Reprter 的報導則掌握進一步消息指出 Warner 和 DC 已經面試多位黑人導演，而且這份名單上似乎與對手 Marvel 的 《Blade 刀鋒戰士》重啟版導演名單有不少重疊：包含 《Creed II 金牌拳手2》的Steven Caple Jr.、《Sleight 靈心妙手》的編劇 J.D. Dillard、剛執導第一部長片《One Night in Miam 邁阿密的一夜》的女演員Regina King 以及今年入圍奧斯卡最佳影片的《Judas and the Black Messiah 猶大與黑色彌賽亞》的 Shaka King 都是可能人選。雖然目前可能還有其他變數，但內線消息指出該劇可能會以20世紀為故事背景，並且不管 Snyder 的DC電影宇宙接下來有沒有可能在下一個階段復活，這部超人電影都將與DC電影宇宙完全切割。

一年的疫情終結了電影院產業和 Netflix 之間誓不兩立的對抗狀態，使美國第三大連鎖電影院 Cinemark 宣布將在5月14日在旗下超過250家電影院上映由 Zack Snyder 執導的最新 Netflix 電影《Army of the Dead 活屍大軍》，使影迷可以在電影上架 Netflix 前一週提早在電影院體驗到這部活屍電影。雖然另外兩家連鎖電影院品牌 AMC 和 Regal 都沒有加入放映，但加計其他小品牌和獨立電影院，將使這次上映的美國電影院數量達到600家之多，也使《活屍大軍》成為史上第一部接近大規模上映的 Netflix 電影。因為大量好萊塢片廠撤走新片，讓電影院就算能開門也沒有電影可以放映。 Cinemark 在去年就曾針對幾部 Netflix 電影做過小規模合作。顯然去年的合作經驗成功到讓他們覺得今年可以大方擁抱 Netflix 。雖然雙方都沒有說明接下來是否還會有其他合作，但推估此門一開，勢必會有更多 Netflix 電影進到電影院的宇宙，得到大規模上映的機會。對電影院業來說出身再也不是問題，只要能吸引觀眾回流的，都是好電影。

因為 Apple 的 App Store 高達30%抽成的所謂蘋果稅，Netflix 自2018年之後就停止在 Apple 裝置上提供 App 內購買的選項，要求消費者跳過 Apple 直接向 Netflix 官方網站付費。這兩天打得如火如荼的 Epic Games v. Apple 官司中，意外出現了 Apple 內部郵件顯示 Apple 當年曾極力想挽留 Netflix 的 App 內購買功能繼續留下來，以免其他人起而效尤，而 App Store 將兵敗如山倒、不再成為消費者一站式訂閱各種服務的入口。曝光的文件顯示 Apple 曾一方面討論過嚴懲 Netflix，另一方面也準備提供誘因給 Netflix 留下來，比如回吐他們抽成所得，藉以用電子郵件、程式介面和實體店面的各種廣告欄位回饋 Netflix 、幫他們打廣告。這也顯示30%蘋果稅並非毫無商量餘地，Apple 會視對手談判實力夠不夠硬來決定。比方去年 Apple 在拒絕 Epic Games 繞過蘋果稅機制的同時，也在一定條件下開放讓 Amazon Prime Video 變成抽成規定的例外。
