About the intro of Jaco Pastorius' s "Punk Jazz" from the Weather Report "Mr. Gone" released in 1978.
The work was joined by Tony Williams, Steve Gadd, and Peter Erskine.
The "punk jazz" intro was playing with Jaco Pastorius and Tony Williams.
In an interview with Motohiko Hamase in the August 1981 issue of the Japanese Jazz Life magazine, Jaco said the intro was on the his 'Dania' format.
I edited this masterpiece and the studio recording "Dania" of Jaco's later years to play at the same time.
So I think Wether Report may have worked on this song during the recording session of "Mr. Gone".

1978年にリリースされたウェザーリポートの「ミスター・ゴーン」からのジャコ・パストリウスの曲「パンク・ジャズ」のイントロについて。
この作品には、トニー・ウィリアムス、スティーブ・ガッド、およびウェザー・リポートの歴史の中で最も長い在職期間をもつ若者であるピーター・アースキンが加わりました。
「パンクジャズ」のイントロは、ジャコ・パストリアスとトニー・ウィリアムスによる演奏です。
ジャコは日本の雑誌Jazz Lifeの1981年8月号の浜瀬元彦へのインタビューで、イントロは「Dania(Jaco Pastorius作曲)」形式で行われると語っています。
そこでこの傑作と晩年のスタジオ録音「Dania」を同時に再生するように編集しました。
私はきっと「Mr.Gone」のレコーディングでウェザー・リポートがこの曲に取り組んだ可能性があると考えています。
