Fang He-sheng of Taiwan is one of the unsung heroes of the coronavirus battle. Mr. Fang, 60, is chief of Taipei's Zhongqin Borough, who has put his own safety aside to keep residents safe. Mr Fang runs a community kitchen to prepare free meals for the elderly who are living alone. He even keeps a record of residents' travel and contact history to prevent a community infection. The kitchen serves up to 300 people a day.

"He helped me to reduce my insurance fee, and then asked me to come here to eat. I'm very grateful to him. He is a man with great compassion."
