在紐約的朋友有搭過所謂的「Dollar Van」嗎？ 可能不少人知道在Flushing, Chinatown和八大道三個華人聚集社區之間有這種小巴行駛，用跟搭地鐵差不多的價錢可以往返三地。

不過我今天要講的是在Brooklyn的「縱貫線」Flatbush Avenue行駛的 Dollar Van。他們的行駛路線就差不多從Brooklyn College沿著Flatbush Avenue到Downtown Brooklyn/Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center，一趟不論遠近都是兩塊錢。

Flatbush Avenue雖然是Brooklyn最主要道路之一，但沿路其實地鐵站不多，而且越往南越少。所以對附近居民來說是一個地鐵和公車之外更方便的選擇。也因此在疫情前，許多有牌或沒牌的業者常常出現在Flatbush Avenue上搶客人的驚險畫面。

昨天下午B, Q地鐵在Atlantic Avenue發生撞人事故，地鐵行駛中斷，整車人被卡在Prospect Park那一站，附近又沒有其他地鐵可換，只好走到Flatbush Avenue搭Dollar Van到Atlantic Avenue再換其他地鐵。上車前，前面一位非英文母語的白人女子大概第一次搭這種小巴，不清楚收費方式，問說可不可以用地鐵卡，司機說明這不是公車後，女子發現她沒有零錢而準備要下車不搭。沒想到巴士上同時兩三個黑人都出聲說沒關係，快上來坐好，我們幫妳付這兩塊錢。女子充滿感激狀的上車就坐，坐在前排一位老兄就拿出兩塊錢給司機，說是幫剛剛那位女生付錢。

原來紐約市在疫情期間還是有這種溫暖的事情，讓因為地鐵延誤而不爽的心情平緩不少。

地鐵恢復正常營運後，大概也意味著要常常去面對各種原因的delay吧。🤷🏻‍♂️

今年因為疫情關係，所以只有少數活動(Outdoors)是可以親自參加，其餘都是線上直播。如果對建築設計有興趣的朋友，透過電腦去看一些新建築或室內設計其實也蠻不錯的。另外必須先登記的部分，Brooklyn Army Terminal，New York Transit Museum和Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant都蠻值得去看看。在世界各地的朋友也可以因為這特別的一年來看看OHNY是怎麼一回事喔！

Today I went to NYC’s Brooklyn Chinatown as a clueless white guy and ordered food in the rare Chinese dialect of Fuzhounese. The other patrons in the restaurant were completely shocked!!!
