沒錯，真的是《芝加哥》！
這齣經典的音樂劇一直都是我夢想可以演到的戲之一。身為亞洲演員，從沒想過自己真的有機會能被選上，真的很感恩現在劇場環境越來越多元及開放，讓非白人的演員有更多的可能性和機會。
睽違了一年半很期待再次站上美國的音樂劇舞台🖤

This is truly one of my dream shows. As an Asian actor, I never thought I’d ever be cast in this musical. So grateful to see more possibility and diversity in the theater scene nowadays.

昨天有一位朋友問Robin說他很喜歡 Jimi Hendrix 和Stevie Ray Vaughan會不會弱掉了！
當然不會，我們這個年紀誰不愛 Hendrix？ 如果聽Hard Rock或是Metal的 朋友👂到後來開始聽 Blues一點也不奇怪。在我們那個年代都嘛是先從 Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Troubles開始接觸白人藍調比較多，然後Blind Faith, Ten Years After, Buddy Guys， Robert Cray，Albert King，Otis Rush, Albert Collins等等！
出生於Dallas 的Stevie Ray Vaughan是個中輟生，他吉他天賦真的是非常高，七歲就受到老哥 Jimmy的影響開始玩吉他，1972 年他覺得自己不是個讀書的料，就決定不念完高中就搬去Austin
1975年他和Bass手Jackie Newhanse、鼓手Chris Layton還有Vocal Ann Bastin組成了Triple Threat 在德州的一些Club演出，還蠻夯的。之後Triple Threat重組變成了Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Double Troubles, 由他自己擔任主唱。
1982是他生涯的轉捩點，他在Montreux Jazz Festival 的演出被David Bowei 看到了後找他進錄音室替他的1983年專輯Let's dance做Session 吉他手。替他打開了大門，之後他就跟Epic唱片簽下了合約。我為什麼會提到這一段呢？因為他的首張專輯“Texas Flood" 會在台灣發行就是由我決定的，不過後來也成了玫瑰，九五那些唱片行眾多滯銷的專輯之一。當時台灣的音樂市場可以說還在啟蒙的階段。這也是為什麼Robin當年並沒有在代理唱片公司做太久而轉向廣播電台製作音樂節目最大的原因之一。
很可惜SRV在1990 年8月26 日在跟Robert Cray，Buddy Guy還有Clapton等大咖一起演出後，搭乘直升機飛往Chicago路上因飛行員的疏失墜落在Wisconsin而喪生，得年35歲真的是很可惜！
今晚就來聽他演奏Hendrix的Voodoo Chile Slight Return！

Jim Johnson
Professor of Voice and Accents
Jim Johnson is a professor of voice and accents at the University of Houston School of Theatre & Dance, where he received the Provost’s 2007 University Teaching Excellence Award and serves as the director of undergraduate programs for the School. Jim served as the director of the School of Theatre & Dance from 2013 – 2016. He works professionally as an actor and as a voice and dialect coach, and is a founder of AccentHelp, which offers over 40 sets of materials for different accents and dialects. Jim teaches and performs annually with the summer training institute of the Prague Shakespeare Company. He is an associate teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework, an associate editor for the International Dialects of English Archive and a member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association. He received his M.F.A. in acting from the University of Nebraska — Lincoln. He formerly served on the faculty of The Theatre School of DePaul University and taught at the Audition Studio in Chicago, Illinois. He is currently represented by Pastorini-Bosby Talent Agency and is a member of Actors’ Equity.
