As you know that I'm a weightlifter and a bodybuilder.
I integrate two systems into my own training program in order to build my physique including heavy weight (high intensity) and light weight (low intensity) to build my shoulders, arms, torso and legs.
Every successful coach agrees that the lateral raise has been a staple for building delts for decades.
People always THINK lifting heavy weight for building muscles; lifting light weight for cutting. My answer is Yes & No.
Depends who is lifting.
Here is my little secret:
I start from heavy lifting - like snatches and clean & jerk, then add hypertrophy work afterward. Just like Chinese weightlifters who do both training programs. That's why I can complete weightlifting competitions and bodybuilding competition at the same time.

What? DB Lateral Raises is easy.
Not really.
I've seen many trainees are doing wrong with it. And many trainees just do the reps but feeling nothing.
According to coach Christian Thib @thibarmy , he said that the lactate accumulation through muscular work is maximized when the muscle is under tension for 45-70 seconds.
I've added DB Lateral Raises Isometric Rotation before regular DB Lateral Raises.
A1. DB ISO Rotation closewise x 10 reps & anti-clockwise x 10 reps
A2. DB Lateral Raises x 12-15 reps unit you can't do one more.
