This was taken at 11pm last night when we were feeling energetic and happy from the day's happenings.
To be honest, we had a terrible Friday, one that left me in agony, tears, guilt and lingering questions of how I can be a better mum. It was the motivation I needed and so I decided to be an overachiever for a day and took them out on a mum-and-kids adventure yesterday.
In the morning, we scooted out to a new place in our neighbourhood to explore the surroundings and ended up having a tasty breakfast which included scrambled eggs, corn cobs and crispy bolo buns. Then we went for a two-hour swim under the hot sun and were lucky to make it home just before it started to rain.
I was thinking if they needed to nap but when they decided against it, we went on a night adventure and took a one-hour train ride to Old Airport Food Centre. The stars were aligned as we managed to get a table within minutes and ended up having a $14 meal consisting of yummy bak chor mee, hokkien mee and sugarcane drinks. The kids said "很好吃! Very delicious!" and I hope they will always remember that the best things in life can be very simple.
We then made our way to Decathlon Singapore Lab where there was a queue to get in but thankfully we didn't give up. Yup, after having fun in the testing zones, including trying for a long time on the pull-up bars, we made our way home with this new baby and two yoga blocks. I've been wanting to teach the 4yo boy how to ride a two-wheel bike like how I taught the sisters previously. So there we were, on our one-hour journey home with our hearts full. The hubby told me to take a taxi but I refused to spend that $18 and hey, our train fares totalled to just $3 and it gave me a sense of accomplishment, you know.
It turned out we were all hungry when we got home so I fixed a couple of snacks for everyone to enjoy before we hit the sack past midnight. It's gonna be a beautiful Sunday too and the kids wanna go cycling and rollerblading! Gotta think positive to make positive things happen, yeah? Happy weekend, people!
P.S. Thankful for helpful kids and our handy 11yo Maclaren stroller, phew!

クリテリウムというロードバイクのレースの中でも比較的距離の短い周回コースで行われるレースに参加してきました。
実は昨年も参加したこのレース。途中でついていけずにちぎれたのを覚えています。
今回は同じレースで、同じカテゴリで出場して、自分がどれだけ成長できたのかを確認しにきました。
