.

First of all, this article is too long for me to translate properly @@
So I will summarize it short and please forgive my grammar mistakes 😅
.
I was in my alma mater, Kaohsiung Senior High School, to give a speech to the students.
I shared with them my philosophy of life and suggest them follow their hearts, live in the present moment, do not regret.
.
I told students who majored in music, to keep enjoy in music and to work hard with their beloved musical instrument, but be brave to quit if this was not what they did enjoy in. Maybe they were forced by the society, parents or anything. Now is the most early time to save the rest of theirs youth from such a burden.
.
I knew they did listen carefully, that’s why they asked me some questions.
Many of them got the same question, which made me astonished and a bit sad,
“Do you think being a dentist with high income is the key enabling you to be engaged in your hobbies?”
Does this question mean they believe one’s income is more important than what one is interested in?
.
I cared about this question so much for one week after the speech.
And I asked their teacher to pass on to the cute and young, and maybe perplexed, students as following,
.
1.I’ve seen many people who are happy and successful. They are devoted to what they love and get money for living from it. He or she might be rich or poor, upper class or lower class, depending on the definition of the society, but their contentment and joy cannot be defined.
2. There are a lot of people with high income. Take dentists as an example, is every dentist looking for what he loves? Or happy? Healthy? I find my happiness from my hobbies, that’s why I share this with you. Dentistry should be shared by some dentist who are enthusiastic about dentistry, not me. I shared my occupation to you only because you are facing the college entrance timing..
3. Money is a part of our lives, a little part of our lives. Not the whole life, and not necessary either. We are richer than many people, and at the same time, poorer than many people. I would rather compare myself with those poorer than me, because that makes me feel better, and feeling is the most important thing for a person. When I compare myself with those rich men, I am nothing, I can’t afford a villa, a personal airplane, a yacht.
If we have a lot of water, we can fill a big pot. If we have little water, we can fill a thin glass and reach the same height of water level, which represents the degree of contentment.
Make clear who we are, and take our responsibility, and enjoy what we deserve.
There are different people for different places, apartments, condominium, mansion, villa, however, the common point of them are being a nice and safe cozy home.
.
If you want to get on a cruise ship, you can earn enough money for the ticket or get the job as a waiter on the ship.
When I couldn’t afford the fee for equestrian class, I worked in the stable and took care of the horses for an afternoon to get the chance to ride the horse for half an hour
.
May you kind and brave, enjoy the life with no regret

KENAPA DAN MENGAPA...?
Kenapa ada yang menjual nasi lemak tepi jalan setiap hari tapi tetap tak buka kedai? Sebab dia selesa begitu.
Jangan paksa orang jadi kaya.
Why and why...?
Why is there anyone selling nasi lemak on the road everyday but still not open the shop? Because he is so comfortable. Don't like to think of complicated problems. Why does anyone become a doctor even though the salary is not worth the energy and the time that was sacrificed? Because of passion. Happy to see the patient again. Why is there anyone who is loyal to fish every morning? Because that's all he knows. It's nice to have a lot of fish.
Don't force people to be rich. Don't be arrogant in the word as if all humans have to be rich and rich. As if the one who chooses ' eating salary ' is not a big soul or doesn't want to go forward in life. As if the small business is nothing to be proud of. As if the one who chose to be a full-time housewife is a 'loser'. As if being called a millionaire is the definition of rich and successful.
Happiness and sense of enough humans are different. Human needs and will are different. God created humans different. Different interest. Kudrat is different. Different expertise. Different knowledge. The background is different. Healthy pain is different. Because everything needs each other.
If today we think we are heroes, don't forget that tomorrow we can be zero. Only with kun fayakun. Get rid of arrogance and feel big in yourself. Don't have that a test. Having something is also a test -- the better, the smoother. Optimistic is good; just don't be arrogant, takabbur, don't take care of your relationship. Don't forget our origin. Everything is from the ground, and to the ground also we will return. What we have today, we will leave everything. There's no one we'll bring together. Only one called taqwa.Translated

Just sharing a thought.. ✍🏼Sometimes I have some moments where i feel down, insecure, anxious and overthink. I guess it’s normal. But when that happens I try to see how far I’ve come to be able to realize some of my kid’s dreams... like becoming an actor, having a bike, a camper, travelling the world, having a place where I feel home, doing grocery shopping without looking at prices (yes that was one of my life goal when i was kid. I’m sure some of you can understand that feeling..), and the more I think about it the more I feel proud of myself. I never compare my life with others cause we are all different and all have a different starting point. Don’t be greedy, don’t be envious, but work hard for what matters the most for yourself.
Everyone has a different definition of success. Money? Career? Notoriety? Power? Education? Travels? Luxury goods? Family? Health? Freedom? Helping others? ... I guess we all want to be successful and feel successful in our own ways, but we should pause to consider what it truly means to achieve success and make sure we strive for OUR right definition of success which match OUR values.
Don’t get lost in someone else’s path and remember that we are all already successful by overcoming all the failures of our past. 👊🏼

Dan Lok Demonstrates a Huen Sao Drill originally from Wing Chung. Huen Sao, sometimes called Huen Sau or circling hand features regularly in the Wing Chun forms. It is used to move safely to the inside or outside of an opponents guard particularity in Chi Sau

Wing Chung and Jeet Kune Do incorporate Trapping Techniques. One, in particular, is the Huen Sao.
WATCH VIDEO LINK HERE: https://youtu.be/k83_0d3cHjs
Great Demonstration here of how to use it correctly and also BONUS Tip at the end of the Video.
If you Do Martial Arts have you ever made use of techniques like this.
Huen Sao is ideally used to change position whilst still controlling your attacker's arm. For example, if you have received a punch and covered on the inside (where you would be vulnerable to more attacks), you can use Huen Sau to move to the outside away from your attacker's other arm without losing contact with the original arm
Trapping is not exclusive to JKD, but it certainly isn’t very common in most martial arts.
In case you aren’t familiar with what I’m talking about, trapping is the art of using your arms to nullify one of your opponent’s limbs so that he can’t use it to hit or to block. This allows you to then strike into that open line (that’s a general definition). It’s also called Hand Immobilization Attack (although you can also immobilize other parts of the body, too, using the same concept).
In short, trapping basically means “grabbing to hit”.
One of Dan Lok’s passions in life is martial arts. Like many young kids, after watching a Bruce Lee movie, it changed his life forever. At 17 years old, Dan started training in martial arts seriously because he was being bullied in school. It wasn’t long for Dan to learn the techniques he needed, and gain the confidence necessary to defend himself.
Dan has studied with legendary martial artist such as Bruce Lee’s original student Ted Wong (http://tedwongjkd.net) and Joe Lewis “The Worlds Greatest Fighter” (http://joelewisassociation.com), making him a second generation student of Bruce Lee - in Bruce Lee's authentic art of Jeet Kune Do (JKD). He's also a third generation student of Ip Man (Wing Chun Kung Fu).
Dan has also trained with other great instructors like Sifu Adam Chan (https://www.pragmaticmartialarts.com), Canadian lightweight boxing champion Tony "Fire Kid" Pep (https://www.facebook.com/pepboxing), and Octavio Quintero (https://www.theartofjkd.com)
For Dan, martial arts training permeates every area of life. It’s not a hobby, it’s a way of life, and it influences how he does business.
Martial arts gave him the confidence, focus, and patience to push through these obstacles and to keep fighting when he felt like giving up.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Dan is NOT a full-time martial artist and he doesn't even claim to be that good of a fighter.
He's simply a successful businessman who enjoys the art and philosophy of Bruce Lee, just like you.
He doesn't have any online martial art videos, seminars or expensive "private training" to sell you. Quite frankly, he doesn't need the money.
He simply wants to share his passion for the art of JKD (his own version of Jeet Kune Do) through his YouTube channel.
