A common concern active pregnant mums have is how far can they push to avoid diastasis recti (DR). DR is basically the separation of your abdominal muscles due to the heavy pressure pushing out your abs and dividing the left and right ab, creating the separation.
The 3 simple rules I practiced to avoid DR during pregnancy:
1. No crunching exercises (especially after 1st trimester - but hack, I stopped as soon as I found out I was pregnant and changed to all core, not abs - exercises)
2. Practice breathing and engage core throughout all exercises
3. Never over push myself during a workout session.
