ABANDONED

If you take a look at them, they both looked like dogs that are well taken care off, don't you think? So what's the story? Well, they are abandoned by their owner at the pet hotel.

They were return customers at this pet hotel. Initially the stay was suppose to be 6 days, but now it has been 1.5 months later. The owner of the pet hotel had contacted the dogs' owner numerous times and watsapp messages were read (double blue ticks). Yet, they refuse to answer the calls and messages. So, the last straw was for the pet hotel owners to let them know that they will find a home for these 2 boys. Even that, they did not reply 😔

Here are some info to share with you about the dogs:
1. From the same owner
2. Husky - 4 years old / Mixed Breed - 2 years old
3. Both not neutered. If you want to adopt them neutered, it can be done.

日本語をそのまま英語に直訳しようとして多くの人がつまずく表現が「ついでに」ではないでしょうか？実はこの「ついでに」という表現は日本語独特のもので、英語にはそれを忠実に言い表わせる表現がありません。そのため英語では、どういった“ついで”なのかによって表現の仕方が異なります。ポイントは忠実な英訳にこだわらなず簡単に考えることです。

日本語の「ついでに」は、ある物事を行う際に別の物事も“付加的に”行う意味として捉えることができるから、英語ではシンプルにandを使って表現するのが適切な場合があります。例えば「トイレを掃除するついでにお風呂も掃除をした」を英語にするなら「I cleaned the bathroom and scrubbed the bathtub.」と表現するのが最も妥当でしょう。
　
✔as wellやtooを文末に加えてもOK。
　
＜例文＞
　
I walked the dog and went grocery shopping.
（犬の散歩のついでに食料品を買いに行った。）
　
I did the laundry and vacuumed the living room as well.
（洗濯をするついでにリビングルームに掃除機をかけました。）
　
I went to the coin laundry and the post office.
（コインランドリーに行くついでに郵便局へ行きました。）

→「ついでに〜する」

「Aをする間にBもする」のように、何かを行う機会を利用して、別のことも“同時に”行う意味合いで「ついでに」と言いたい場合にピッタリの表現です。While you're at itを直訳すると「あなたがそこにいる間」となることから、このフレーズは基本的に自分以外の誰かが何かをしている間に（=ついでに）何かをして欲しいとお願いをする状況で使われます。例えば、ルームメイトが洗濯していたら「Can you do my laundry while you're at it?（ついでに僕の洋服も洗濯してくれる？）」と尋ねることができます。
　
✔While I'm at itやWhile we're at itという言い方もできる。
　
＜例文＞
　
Can you install that software in my laptop while you're at it?
（ついでに私のパソコンにもそのソフトウェアをインストールしてくれますか？）
　
Why don't you study English while you're at it?
（ついでに英語も勉強したら？）
　
I'm making dinner right now. You know what? I'll just prepare our lunch for tomorrow while I'm at it.
（今、晩御飯を作っているよ。ついでに私たちの明日のお昼ご飯も用意しておくよ。）

→「〜にいるついでに〜してくれる」

この表現は上記2)のWhile you're at itと根本的な用法は同じです。While you're at itは“何かをしているついで”を意味するのに対し、この「While you're there」は“どこかにいるついで”を意味します。例えば、スタバにいる友達に「そこ（スタバ）にいるついでに私にアイスコーヒーを買ってきてくれない？」とお願いするなら「Can you pick me up an iced coffee while you're there?」と言うことができます。
　　
✔Thereの代わりにHereを使ってもOK.
　
＜例文＞
　
While you're there, can you buy some milk? We ran out.
（そこにいるついでに牛乳も買ってきてくれない？なくなっちゃたんだよね。）
　
While you guys are there, you should visit the Tokyo tower. It's only one station away.
（そこにいるついでに東京タワーに行きなよ。1駅しか離れてないからさ。）
　
While you're there, can you tell James about tomorrow's meeting.
（そこにいるついでに、ジェームズに明日のミーティングのことを伝えてくれる？）

→「〜へ行くついでに〜する」

「〜へ向かう途中に」の意味合いで「ついでに」と言いたい場合はOn the way（途中で）を使って表現するのが最も適当です。例えば、「銀行へ行くついでにコンビニに行ってお菓子を買ってくるよ」と言う場合は「On the way to the bank, I'll swing by the convenience store and buy some snacks.」となります。
　
✔On the wayの代わりにOn one's wayを使ってもOK。
　
＜例文＞
　
I'll drop you off at school on the way to work.
（仕事に行くついでに学校まで送ってあげるよ。）
　
I'll stop by your office on my way home.
（家に帰るついでにオフィスに寄るね。）
　
On the way to Fukuoka, we stopped by Osaka and ate steamed pork buns at 551 Horai.
