Its tradition in our house since Ella Grace was teeny tiny that we tell the story of Easter with these colorful plastic eggs.
If you can’t fight it, embrace it.

1. LEAF:
Hosanna! He came welcomed as a King with palm leaves.
2. BREAD/CRACKER:
(I was telling this in Sunday School but if just you and your little, you can use a real cracker)
He gave the last supper breaking bread with the disciples and said, “Take and eat, this is my body given up for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
3. CROSS & NAIL:
(I usually take it apart the cross and put together as I’m telling the story then illustrate the nails in the palm of my hands)
They hung Him on the cross and nailed His hands and feet and put a crown of thorns on His head.
4. GAUZE
(I add a drop of essential oil on the gauze and let them smell it)
After He had died, they wrapped Jesus’ body with spices and strips of linen.
5. ROCK
(I roll the rock in front of the egg as I tell it)
They sealed the tomb with a large stone.
6. EMPTY
(Teach then to echo back the second phrase which is usually the greeting on Easter morning)
He is risen! He is risen indeed!
