One of the most unforgettable experiences I’ve had in recent memory - a life and hope affirming day at vegan-run sanctuary Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand with my dear friend Lek Chailert. For decades, Lek has tirelessly rescued and advocated for elephants exploited in the riding, circus and logging industries. Northern Thailand was once the epicentre for the elephant riding industry, where tourists’ desire for photos drove a multi-million dollar industry predicated on violence, fear and despair. But hearts are awakening and this barbaric practice is declining thanks to Khun Lek’s inspiring efforts 🐘❤️
