A wrong belief: “My job/money/spouse/house is my security. That is the only thing keeping me safe from destruction.”
“I love you, Yahweh, my strength. Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower. I call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised; and I am saved from my enemies.” (Psalms 18:1-3 WEB)
When you think of a rock, do you picture a small rock in your hands? That is not what the original Hebrew word in the passage above means. The word is “sela” which is used to describe a high cliff.
David wrote this psalm when he was fleeing from king Saul who wanted to kill him. He took refuge in the cave of Adullam (Adullam means “refuge”) and lived there with men who were drawn to his leadership.
The psalm shows us David’s thoughts, that even though he was hiding in a physical cave of refuge, he knew that the one truly protecting him was the Lord Yahweh.
He was really seeking refuge in the Lord, not in a cave. We must likewise trust in the Lord Jesus as our source of protection and not place our trust in any physical place or thing.
It does not matter how secure something may seem in the natural. If the Lord is not involved, that refuge is not safe from your enemies.
Do you need refuge from something you are facing in life? Turn away from earthly things and make Jesus your source of protection. He will keep you safe from your enemies.
A new faith declaration: “God is my rock that I fully trust in for protection and victory over all my enemies. Nothing on this earth is safe apart from Him. I am loved and very important to God!”

#SundayNightWithAH is back again and in celebration of Women’s Month, we are going to be speaking with Ashley, the founder of Stirring Up Borneo (SUB) by BorneoTalk to talk about empowering and uplifting single mothers and the underprivileged women of Borneo.
As we know, single mothers are one of the most adversely affected group of people during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year’s Women’s Month, we want to give them the utmost highest priority and focus because they are the most vulnerable group under the women empowerment community.
We are also going to go in depth to discuss about the on going challenges and stereotypes faced by single mothers and how they find the strength as a mother and a woman to overcome their hardships especially at this trying time.
We have always highlighted and championed female leadership movement but for this special occasion, let us shift our focus to celebrate and applaud these amazingly strong and resilient women.

RISE 2021 : FUTURE FEMALE LEADERS FORUM
What an eventful day it was yesterday. I felt a sense of awe when I observed people becoming vulnerable and conquering their fears by taking a step forward as they RISE UP TO BECOME THE BEST PERSON FOR THEMSELVES.
I was given the topic of "EMPOWERING EMPATHETIC LEADERSHIP" to share on. I have made it a point to be an empathetic person — at work, home even amongst the circles of my friends. It is actually something that I continue to work on since I feel it has helped me become a better person. On top of that, I would say that empathy is also arguably the most important skill one can possess especially when you’re in a leadership role.
A huge shout out and thank you to the RISE : Future Female Leaders for having me on the panel as one of the speakers. It was indeed a great honour to be able to share my humble thoughts and experiences together with Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood, Mana Forbes and my amazing moderator, Sarina Isksndar on this topic. Having to listen different insights and ideas from the panels have indeed gave me a wider understanding on why empathy is so important in a leadership role. What I also learned is that empathy is a choice - a very personal and daring choice to make every single day. I hope that on this women's month, you will choose to be kind to everyone around you.
Thank you once again RISE : Future Female Leaders for also partnering with Wanita Muda Negara Rasmi & Girl2Leader Malaysia. I greatly appreciate this partnership and support!
