【奧運餘溫】剛過去的奧運讓不少朋友燃起「運動魂」

⚠️ 忽然運動
與朋友一窩蜂去跑馬拉松,或者因為受到奧運熱潮感染,突然報劍擊班或瘋狂游水,平日零運動人士的肌肉強度及韌帶彈性都比較差,忽然運動起來特別容易受傷,記得要循序漸進啊!
⚠️ 過度運動
運動雖好,但要注意身體能承受的程度,如果感到頭暈胸悶、呼吸不順、食慾不振、疲憊不堪、睡眠質素變差、身體持續疼痛、鬱悶易怒,感覺愈運動愈疲勞,就要思考是否過度運動帶來了不適。
⚠️ 忽略保暖
這個情況多在冬天發生,因預計做運動會發熱出汗,故只穿輕薄衣服外出,其實運動前後都要注意保暖,尤其運動出汗後毛孔打開容易感染風寒。
⚠️ 空肚做運動
想趕在上班前做運動,卻沒時間吃早餐,於是空着肚子做運動;血糖太低會導致頭暈及體力不支,時間很趕的話建議喝一杯米水打底。
⚠️ 運動後大吃一頓
辛苦過後想大吃一頓犒賞自己,運動後的確需要補充適當的熱量及營養,建議選項以優質蛋白質及碳水化合物為主,如果放肆大嚼肥甘厚味、煎炸油膩食物,運動就等於白做了。

Poor workout habits
⚠️ Exercise abruptly
Due to the excitement from the Olympics, some of us might start running marathons, sign up for fencing, or go swimming. Those who seldom exercise might risk damaging their muscles and ligaments if they engage in intensive sports all of a sudden. It is important to take it slow for a start!
⚠️ Exercise excessively
It is good to exercise, but we must know our limits. When we feel dizzy, experience chest tightness, breathing difficulties, appetite loss, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and continuous pain on the body, or become irritable, we should reconsider the way we exercise.
⚠️ Overlook the importance of keeping the body warm
This is a bad habit especially during winter. Some people tend to wear thin clothes, thinking that they will sweat after a workout session. It is important to keep the body warm because we might catch a cold more easily when the pores are expanded when we sweat.
⚠️ Exercise with an empty stomach
Instead of having breakfast, some of us want to spend time exercising before leaving for work. Exercising with an empty stomach might cause us to feel weak and dizzy because our blood sugar levels are low. If need be, drink at least a cup of rice water before working out.
⚠️ Indulge in a sumptuous meal after working out
We have the tendency to reward ourselves with good food after a round of strenuous exercise. We should eat appropriately to replenish the nutrients and calories, but our diets should be carbohydrate- and protein-based. Savoring deep fried and greasy foods would only defeat the purpose of working out.

5 ROUTINES TO ACHIEVE YOUR CREATIVE GOALS
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a creative entrepreneur, I have discovered more and more the importance of the system of how we work - especially because our minds are not naturally wired towards structures or systems.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are a few work routines that I find help me a lot in the past 2-3 years in working more consistently, whilst putting in time into new projects and ideas.��(1) setting a goal system list - setting out the next action step you need to get closer to accomplishing each goal and the expected deadline to it - and review the list regularly as things do tend to evolve quickly these days��(2) don’t have too many goals at the same time - decluttering goals is a thing too! (this is one that I struggle with a lot being someone who has too many ideas and too little focus!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
(3) plan your day ahead the night before - transfer anything you may have on your to-do list on to your schedule with time slots assigned to each task (I find with a to-do list with no set time for the tasks, I end up simply not doing it)��(4) getting the important work done in the morning if possible - and leaving all emails, admin work and meetings to the mid-late afternoon when our focus starts to drift (mmm what should I have for dinner?)��(5) having a renewing morning routine that includes 500-800ml of water, physical exercise and a nutritional breakfast!

Here's what I eat on a typical day when I meal prep. Of course, I don't eat like this every single day depending on my schedule and if I do travel. But as much as I can, I love to cook for myself because that means I'm fulling in control with what I eat and that's the easiest way to stay healthy and fit.

Breakfast - OVERNIGHT OATMEAL
1) 1.5 cups Rolled Oats
2) 1.5 cups Soy Milk
3) 3 tsps. Honey or Maple Syrup
4) 2 tbsps. Dried Cranberries
5) 2 tbsps. Chia Seeds
6) 2 tbsps. Peanut Butter
Steps:
1) In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together.
2) Spoon the oat mixture into 3 jars and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
3) Top up with your favourite fruits before eating.
Lunch - TUNA SALAD
1) 2 Cans of Tuna Chunks
2) ¼ cup Plain Yoghurt
3) ½ tbsps. Lemon Juice
4) 1 tbsp. Cranberries
5) Salt & Pepper to taste
Steps:
1) Combine all the ingredients together.
2) Pack half of the container with your favourite vegetables and be generous. Separate the Tuna mixture from the salad to keep it fresh.
Snack - HEALTHY BANANA WALNUT MUFFINS (serves 12)
1) 1/2 cup greek yoghurt
2) 1.5 cup Rolled Oats
3) 2 Bananas, mashed
4) 2 eggs, beaten
5) 2 tbsps. Honey
6) 1/4 cup crushed Walnuts
7) 2 tbsps. Cranberries
8) 1 tsp. Baking Soda
109Cals per muffin
Steps:
1) Pre-heat oven to 180C or 350 Fahrenheit.
2) In a large bowl, mash bananas, whisk in eggs, greek yoghurt and about honey. Stir until well combined and set aside.
3) Blend, rolled oats until fine.
4) In a separate bowl, mix in all the dry ingredients, oats, baking soda, crushed walnuts and cranberries.
5) Combine wet and dry ingredients together. Keep mixing until you get an even batter.
6) Divide equally to 12 cupcake liners and bake for 15 minutes or until muffins are cooked through.
Dinner - BAKED FISH WITH VEGETABLES (serves 3)
1) 500g Frozen Tilapia, any fish or meat of your choice.
2) 2 Carrots – 25Cals
3) 1 Red Bell Pepper
4) 1 head Broccoli – 98Cals
5) 1 Sweet Potato – 112Cals
6) 1 Red Onion – 46Cals
7) 6 Garlic Cloves, crushed – 27Cals
8) 1 tbsp. Olive Oil, divided – 69Cals
9) 1 tbsp. Apple Cider Vinegar – 3Cals
10) ¼ tsp. Mixed Herbs
11) Salt & Pepper to taste
Steps:
1) Pre-heat oven to 220°C/425°F.
2) Then slice up all the vegetables.
3) Rub fish with olive oil, mixed herbs and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
4) ArrangE all the chopped up vegetables on the bottom of a baking dish. Season the vegetables with olive oil, apple cider vinegar, salt, pepper, and mixed herbs. Give it a good mix.
5) Then arrange the marinated fish on top of the vegetables and cover the baking dish with aluminium foil.
6) Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until fish is done.
