No, it’s not easy.
Everything that’s worth having, isn’t.
I have been struggling with bloating since I was a kid and as I grow older, the issue is becoming more apparent and now each time after I eat, I feel really uncomfortable.
I’ve seen quite a number of gastro doctors and they all gave me similar advice; cut down on dairy and processed/oily food, refined sugar, alcohol, etc as these madderf*ckers are the contributing factors to my bloating problem.
They also told me to eat slower and to take smaller meals.
I never really listened to their tips and just did as I pleased, which most certainly had it’s consequences - me feeling extremely sluggish and unproductive when I consume certain foods.
I know eating tasty but unhealthy food can immediately put us in a better mood, but this instant gratification doesn’t serve me and my body in the long term.
So, I’ve decided to change up my meals to strike a more balanced diet which eliminates a big portion of foods that I really enjoy; desserts and beverages containing dairy.
To be honest, it’s a challenge. My body is currently fighting its own battle trying to adapt to this new pattern and I find myself feeling hungry and craving for sugary food!
Therefore, fruits are now my go to whenever I crave for something sweet!
The upside of this challenge is that, my stomach feels better and less bloated now so I hope to be consistent with this pattern!
I’m also on a journey to getting stronger and fitter through fitness!
A lot of people ask how I find motivation to exercise, especially on bad days.
Actually, all you need to do is to be stronger than your excuses! Make fitness a non-negotiable.
On lazy days, I force myself out of bed, change into my gym wear and blast my ‘Beast Mode’ playlist out loud! This usually does the trick for me!
As much as I try to commit to working out at least 5 times/week, I fail to adhere to it sometimes, but you know what, I never give up.
I just keep trying and trying.
Fitness is a lifelong commitment and I can assure you, only good things come out of it!
I want to be able to have the energy to continue to lead a healthy and active life even when I’m in my 60’s ✌🏾

exercise with kid 在 Facebook 的精選貼文
I used to be a competitive kid, in a quiet way. Being a perfectionist, I would work very hard when I wanted to see results, be it with my studies, at work, in school...
But I've learnt this stress to perform well is taking a toll on my body, especially so when I grow older.
°
You may or may not recognise the stress your body feels. It can manifest itself in aches, discomfort, pain, mood swings, low productivity, lack of interest in things that you used to love, stiffness and tightness in body, or other ailments. My stress response is easily triggered by over planning my schedule to the point that I hardly get rest...and it comes out with my gut issues, throat problems, fatigue, lack of enthusiasm to socialise...
°
My outlet is to exercise, because that's the only thing I can do with irregular working hours. My life is a complete opposite of my friends', and when everyone is out socialising I am working. I've learnt that I need to remind myself that while helping other people relax and feel better in their bodies, I need to help myself too. Everyone deserves me time and we need to encourage everyone towards a better work-life balance than one that tips towards earning more to be successful.
°
If you are struggling, do remember to take the break that you have been procrastinating. No one can take that away from you, and remember, everyone's limitations is different. You deserve every bit of what you want. 😘
°
Sorry too long winded but here's a bit of workout time with my cheapo banana socks for that dose of happy vibes.😊

《UDN》報導:
In Taiwan, two out of every ten people in poverty are children. According to statistics from the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families, approximately 4-6% of children will be born into families suffering from poverty. They don’t have enough food and nutrition, lack protection and care, and grow up to fall into the vicious cycle of poverty. “There is no simple solution to poverty.” From the long-term observation of the YongLin Education Foundation, 100 children have 100 different stories. There is no simple solution to their problem. “You have to help every child achieve his or her happiness.” Get close to them, listen to them, and lend them a helping hand.
1. suffer from poverty
2. according to 根據
3. lack proper nutrition
4. the vicious cycle of poverty
5. there is no simple solution
6. long-term observation
7. lend someone a helping hand

The 23-year-old Liang-chin Chen once worked four jobs as a child. When in junior high school, his parents failed in their business venture and were frequent by loan sharks who often came to collect debts. They borrowed NT$300,000, but with rolling interests, their debt accumulated into the millions. His family lived in metal shacks, and all their hard-earned cash was given to underground loan sharks. “I earn my own living expenses, and I went to sell mantou (Chinese steamed buns) at moving night markets for NT$5 apiece. When business was good, I would earn NT$400, and the whole family would be able to fill their bellies the next day.” Once when he was in the seventh grade, a gang member came to his house and scolded him: If you don’t have money, why do you bother to study? Why not go out and make some money?!

In this environment, Liang-chin Chen could not care less about school work, focusing only on working part-time jobs to make ends meet. He lived this way until his high school teacher convinced him that “studying holds the greater value” by showing him how he can receive scholarships through good grades. It’s more cost-effective than selling mantou. Liang-chin Chen climbed from the bottom of a remote high school to the top of his class in a national university. His university even helped him pay back the loan sharks through scholarships. He is currently a postgraduate student at National Cheng Kung University. This year, Liang-chin Chen is teaching elders how to exercise in Tainan’s remote areas. “I don’t have the money to contribute back to society and to help others, so I will use my skills and abilities to help elders in the community.” Liang-chin Chen is also a lecturer for Fubon Charity Foundation’s Youth from Disadvantaged Family Program.
18. could not care less abt sth
19. make ends meet
21. contribute back to 回饋給
*could not care less: https://bit.ly/3ft0UjR
★★★★★★★★★★★★
Liang-chin Chen is a paragon of the charity’s efforts to invite homegrown talents back to local comminutes in Tainan. Always smiling and speaking Taiwanese with elders, Liang-chin Chen can empathize with poverty-stricken children in remote regions. “I was a kid who grew up in a metal shack, but I met so many remarkable people who helped me during my studies. Do not be ashamed of your roots. Work to achieve your goals 10, 20 years from now, and you can do it. I am a living example of what one can accomplish.”
24. homegrown talents

30. one’s roots
