was a Finnish painter, illustrator, graphic artist, wood sculptor and jewelry designer.
She belonged to the Swedish speaking population of Finland.

Väinö Linna's 1954 novel Tuntematon Sotilas - The Unknown Soldier - chronicles the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviet Union from the viewpoint of Finnish soldiers, a raw machine gun company. A classic of Finnish literature, it is an important part of Finland's national legacy.
In 1955 a movie of the same name was released. It is Finland's most successful film ever and, broadcast every Independence Day, is 'ritual viewing' for a large part of the Finnish population. November 2017 saw the international premiere of a new version, described as "gritty, forlorn, honest and realistic". I'm off to the cinema!

Iceland’s Blue Lagoon should be at the top of your bucket list. The famously milky-blue waters have captivated travellers and contributed to the country’s tourism boom in recent years.
