Những người bắt đầu ở giai đoạn này thường gặp một số vấn đề như sau:

- Mất gốc tiếng Anh hoặc chưa có nền tảng tiếng Anh vững chắc

- Chưa từng tiếp xúc với IELTS, không nắm rõ được cấu trúc bài thi, dạng đề thi IELTS.

- Ngữ pháp còn yếu, chưa biết cách nhận dạng và sử dụng các dạng từ phổ biến

- Chưa biết cách phát âm, phát âm chưa chuẩn, còn sai nhiều âm cơ bản.

- Nghe chưa tốt, chưa biết cách nghe tiếng Anh hiệu quả

Vì vậy, ở giai đoạn này, thay vì vội tìm hiểu về bài thi IELTS, chúng ta cần phải tập trung vào 3 mảng chính khi bắt đầu học một ngoại ngữ, bao gồm Ngữ pháp, Từ vựng và Phát âm.

GIAI ĐOẠN 2: LẤY ĐÀ | MỤC TIÊU 5.5 IELTS

1. Mục tiêu giai đoạn 2

Làm quen với các dạng bài quen thuộc trong 4 kỹ năng IELTS
5.0 IELTS

2. Thời gian học
2-3 tháng
2-3 tiếng / ngày

3. Nội dung học

- Sau khi đã nắm vững về cấu trúc đề thi IELTS và dạng câu hỏi thường xuất hiện, ta sẽ sử dụng phương pháp Nghe chép (transcribe) đối với kỹ năng Nghe.

- Sử dụng bộ kỹ thuật Skimming & Scanning để rèn luyện khả năng đọc hiểu.

- Tập trung vào IELTS Writing Task 1 và tìm hiểu đặc điểm của 6 dạng biểu đồ: Line, Bar, Pie, Table, Process, Map, cũng như nắm vững cấu trúc của 1 bài essay Task 1.

- Tập trung vào IELTS Speaking Part 1 và tìm hiểu các chủ đề thường xuyên xuất hiện trong Part 1 như: Work, Study, Family, Accomodation, Hobbies, Music, Clothes, Internet, Food,...

GIAI ĐOẠN 3: CHẠY BỀN | MỤC TIÊU 6.5

1. Mục tiêu
Củng cố từng kỹ năng và nắm vững chiến thuật làm các dạng bài cụ thể. Đầu ra 6.5 IELTS

2. Thời gian học
2-3 tháng
2-3 tiếng / ngày

3. Nội dung học

- Dành nhiều thời gian hơn để đối chiếu đáp án trong kỹ năng Listening và Reading

- Tiếp tục duy trì luyện tập IELTS Writing Task 1 và dành một nửa thời gian để tìm hiểu cấu trúc đề IELTS Writing Task 2 với 4 dạng đề: Agree/Disagree, Advantage/Disadvantage, Problem/Solution, Discussion

GIAI ĐOẠN 4: TĂNG TỐC | MỤC TIÊU 7.5

1. Mục tiêu giai đoạn Tăng tốc
Tập trung cho việc luyện đề, xác định những điểm yếu, những lỗi sai thường gặp của bản thân và tìm cách giải quyết cho những vấn đề đó. Đầu ra 7.5+ IELTS

2. Thời gian học cho giai đoạn 4
1-2 tháng trước khi thi
3 tiếng / ngày

3. Nội dung học

- Tập trung toàn bộ thời gian vào việc luyện đề cũng như làm quen với áp lực khi đi thi.

Lộ trình tự học IELTS 7.5 hoàn toàn phù hợp cho những bạn mới bắt đầu. Chỉ cần bạn thật sự quyết tâm và nỗ lực, bạn chắc chắn sẽ đạt được mục tiêu mà mình đề ra. Đặc biệt, bạn còn nhận được sự hỗ trợ đắc lực từ IELTS Fighter nữa đấy nhé.

I didn’t meet my father until I was 6 years old. My parents had a comfortable, middle-class life in Shanghai, or as close as you could get under communism. But they always wanted to live overseas, and just before I was born, my dad came to Sydney to set things up. I don’t know why, but in the end, my mother and I didn’t join him until I was 6.

I ended up having to move school 3 times before I came to Balwyn Primary School, which was relatively multicultural.

After that, I did alright. Music featured very prominently in my life. I had started learning the violin from the age of 2.5 years old and even with all the troubles that were going on in my life, had somehow still kept up with it. As a result, I got a music scholarship to Trinity Grammar School. But even there I used to get into quite a lot of mischief, and would often skip school to go to the movies.

I next worked at Swinburne University, and then was head-hunted to lead the corporate legal team at the Commercial Passenger Vehicles Commission.
