【活在荒謬體制底下，作為「無權勢者」的我們可以如何自處？】
適逢六月多事之秋，哈維爾（Havel）的經典作品《無權勢者的力量》（The Power of the Powerless）繁體中文版再次問世，並已於香港各獨立書店上架。日後它很有可能成為禁書，但此刻的香港尚不是一個只有順民官媒的地方。
與傳統極權統治不同，後極權主義更着重於合理化其統治壓迫。它以人民之名行極權之實，利用長期的謊言維持意識形態。它可以是一個物質生活充裕的社會，人們與謊言共處；甚至鼓勵人民只顧物質享受，而放棄道德價值判斷。
哈維爾認為，當我們心甘情願和謊言共存並習慣生活在謊言之中，這樣的行為正正是為掌權者添磚瓦，鞏固政府想塑造的假象：「個人毋須相信此等神話故事，但他們必須表現得相信，或最少要忍受，或保持緘默，或與同流合污者好好相處。因此，他們必須與謊言同活。他們不一定要同意這些謊言，他們只須接受自己與謊言共處，已經足夠。結果，這些個體認可了制度，滿足了制度，構成了制度，而成為制度的一部分。」
要反抗厚顏無恥的後極權制度，唯有揭穿它的虛偽與謊言。這有賴每個人時常反思自身的行為，恪守道德價值且盡力做到言行一致，不因為麻煩或是為求自保而虛與委蛇。舉例來說，今天政府分發一張張政治宣傳標語，某位大叔堅拒配合張貼在店內，此舉可能招致更多壓迫卻同時具有否定權威的政治意義。而當整條街的商户都受他影響拒絕張貼海報，就會開啓一場不合作運動。
追求真相似乎變得越來越難，但若然你我都持之以恆地活在真實之中，政權的謊言亦不足為懼。
