Scatter More Seeds and Increase

“There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself. People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it. He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him. He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.” (Proverbs‬ ‭11:24-28‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

In this world, there is a principle at work, and that is the principle of sowing and reaping: every seed sown and watered eventually produces a harvest.

“While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease.”” (Genesis‬ ‭8:22‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

When you give, that is an act of sowing, and it will have an immediate effect of blessing somebody, but it will also produce a harvest for you in due time.

The kind of harvest you reap depends on the type of seed you sow. If you sow a financial seed, you will receive a multiplied harvest of finances.

“Remember this: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work. As it is written, “He has scattered abroad, he has given to the poor. His righteousness remains forever.” Now may he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food, supply and multiply your seed for sowing, and increase the fruits of your righteousness; you being enriched in everything to all liberality, which produces through us thanksgiving to God.” (2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:6-11‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Those who sow generously will reap generously. The apostle Paul confirmed this and encouraged believers to give cheerfully knowing that their gifts go on to bless many people, produce thanksgiving to God, and also abounding grace to the giver.

If we constantly receive but do not give, it will breed the love of possessions, and be detrimental to our own well-being. Hoarding, stinginess, and a scarcity mindset will fester in a person who does not give.

When we step out in faith to worship Jesus through tithing our income and giving as led by the Holy Spirit, we sanctify our hearts from the love of money.

It also has the secondary effect of sowing financial seeds to produce a harvest in our future.

When we give, we are actively putting our trust in the Lord and not in riches. Whenever we give, we can pray for the Lord to multiply our seed for sowing.

As God increases your prosperity and enlarges your coast, get excited about being able to sow even more than before.

I once saw a quote by Mark Batterson, “When God blesses you financially, don’t raise your standard of living. Raise your standard of giving.” This is so succinct and wonderfully true. Covet the privilege of being able to give more.

Material possessions in this world are fun and nice comforts and privileges to have, but nothing beats the honor and joy of sowing into God’s kingdom, sponsoring the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and feeding those in need like widows and orphans, especially those in our household of faith. The rewards for these acts of righteousness will remain forever!

The 78th Venice International Film Festival (VIFF) announced the shortlisted nominees for the category of VR Film. Taiwanese new media artist, Distinguished Professor of NTNU, Hsin-Chien Huang, winner of the BEST VR Experience in 2017 with his work La Camera Insabbiata, will again contest for the Leone d’oro this year with two of his latest, sci-fi inspired works, Samsara and The Starry Sand Beach. While the Taiwanese athletes are striving for the Gold Medals at the Tokyo Olympics as we speak, director Hsin-Chien Huang dazzles the jury of VIFF with his visually-stunning and thought-provoking works — bringing cutting-edge Taiwanese VR films onto the international stage and letting world-wide audience sees Taiwan!

Before being selected for the 78th Venice International Film Festival, Samsara episode 1. has already grabbed the Jury Award at SXSW and Best VR Story at the Cannes XR Competition. This futuristic VR experience teleports the audience onto a journey that spans millions of years. Samsara is a Sanskrit word meaning “ the world ”. In Buddhism, it means what we perceive as the world is actually an endless cycle of karma (cause and effect), a cycle of life, death and rebirth in the six realms of existence. In this fascinating VR work, the audience is reincarnated into the bodies of different persons and creatures, experiencing the universe in their new bodies and in search for the ultimate spiritual transcendence.

Samsara depicts an apocalyptical story in the near future where human greed has depleted the earth’s resource. Catastrophic wars to fight for resource resulted in global destruction. Finally, the remaining humans had to leave the Earth and go on a search in space for a new place to live.

Nevertheless, their desperate, long quest for a new homeland… could it be just a loop in space and time? The cycle of greedy domination and total destruction that then necessitates the search for a new home…. may have hopelessly repeated itself over and over again? The constant evolutionary process and so-called progress, without transformation in consciousness and spiritual advancement, is nothing more than a Möbius strip that leads nowhere, perhaps…?

Samsara is an experiment based on the theory of Embodied Cognition. Through interactivity and VR, the audience gets to live inside the bodies of different persons and creatures, experiencing their feelings from within. Perhaps It is when we can perceive the world in different bodies that we may truly appreciate the thoughts of others and empathize with them. An experience that will also help us better comprehend our own existence and learn to live in harmony with all.

Samsara explores a complex of deeply interconnected issues of ecology, technology, natural resource and war, etc. It's a story about a journey humans are forced to take on, after having destroyed the earth with nuclear disasters. The survivors seek a new planet, in the boundless, interstellar space, to carry on their lives. Gradually they evolve into a new life form artificially. Yet, many years passed and they’ve come to realize that they would never make it to the new planet they’ve been dreaming of. In fact, they have simply been returning to the Earth, in different life forms, time after time.

Director Huang applies the concepts of embodied cognition, offering a unique way to contemplate about the nature of life. As the audience are transported into different bodies each time, they gain a brand new perspective to experience the world views presented in Samsara.

Samsara was produced under the guidance of Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and Kaohsiung Film Archive VR(VR FILM LAB), it’s a sate-of-the-art VR production made 100% in Taiwan. In the VR experience, viewers are transformed into various kinds of animals to interact with the scenes, including species unique and indigenous to Taiwan, such as Taiwan Blue Magpie and Formosan Black Bear.

Samsara Ep.1 features the latest somatosensory technology, including 4D views shooting techniques by the Industrial Technology Research Institute and TAICCA. A digital shooting system comprised of a high-sensitivity 4 million-pixel, full-color CCD sensor and 48 4DV-EX-Z cameras made it possible for Samsara Ep.1 to be taken from an omnidirectional view and shot without any blind spots, creating the ultimate immersive experience.

THE STARRY SAND BEACH, directed by Hsin-Chien Huang and produced in cooperation with Lucid Reality (France) and Oready 瑞意創科 Oready Innovation Lab (Taiwan), is a scientific fairy tale about a unique ecological wonder in Taiwan and Japan, the shiny starry sand beaches. Foraminifera, from the Latin word “foramen” meaning hole, is a single-celled organism that builds a shell with multiple chambers which intercommunicate with one another through holes. On the Qimei Island, Taiwan and the Yaeyama Islands, Japan, beaches have been formed by a specific species of foraminifera with star-shaped shells made of calcium carbonate. Like the real stars in the legends, grains of the starry sand have also been preserving the earth’s memories for millions of years.

THE STARRY SAND BEACH is a real-time 3D interactive VR adventure into the natural and mythological landscape of the starry sand beaches on Qimei Island in Penghu Archipelago, Xing Sha Wan in Kenting National Park and Taketomi Island in the far south of Japan. The experience is full of aesthetically-amazing elements and enriched with cultural and religious significance like Shintoism in Japan. A beautiful, haunting legend tells the story of the starry sand…

The final winners will be presented at the award ceremony held on Sep11. With great anticipation and hopes, Hsin-Chien Huang is expected to bring home again the grand prize for Taiwan!

1. Nói chuẩn accent?

Trong phần tiêu chí chấm điểm, ở mục “Pronunciation” có 4 điều mà ta cần phải để ý: accent has minimal effect on inteligibility, tức giọng nói không có ảnh hưởng đến bài nói
Mà ta cần đảm bảo tiêu chí use a wide range of pronunciation features (individual sounds, word stress, sentence stress, intonation, chunking) flexible use of these features
Vì vậy các bạn nên học phát âm các từ cho rõ trước đã, sau khi nắm chắc cách đọc của các từ, sau đó luyện theo giọng Anh-Anh hoặc Anh-Mỹ mà mình muốn.

2. Phải dùng từ vựng khủng

'Idiomatic expressions' is defined in most dictionaries in this way: using, containing, or denoting expressions that are natural to a native speaker.
Pull yourself together, everything’s gonna be okay.
'Less common' must therefore mean 'less commonly used by English learners, not 'less commonly used by native speakers'.

That’s an incredibly beautiful dress.

You see the difference right? Các bạn có thể thấy, ở cách nói thứ hai, từ vựng tuy đơn giản nhưng lại là những cách diễn đạt mà những người học tiếng Anh như chúng ta rất ít khi dùng, nhưng đây chính là những cách diễn đạt hàng ngày của người bản xứ, và học Speaking theo những cách này chắc chắn sẽ giúp chúng các bạn nói nghe rất tự nhiên

3. Phải dùng idioms

What’s your hobby?
I a get kick out of listening to music because it helps me let my hair down and I even go to music concerts with my friends once in a blue moon.
Khi nói như vậy bạn sẽ khiến câu nói của mình mất tự nhiên. Ngoài ra nếu như không nắm được rõ nghĩa của idiom, bạn sẽ dễ dùng sai ngữ cảnh, khiến mất điểm trong bài thi nói. Hơn nữa, có những idiom đã cũ và không được sử dụng thường xuyên nữa, nếu không biết được, thì các bạn sẽ khiến cho câu nói của mình sến.
Thay vì vậy hãy sử dụng ngôn ngữ tự nhiên bằng cách đưa phrasal verb và collocations, ví dụ như:
What’s your hobby?

超級高興我在 NYX FACE Awards TAIWAN 2019 中進入15強✨
這是我第一次參加化妝比賽 超興奮的～

第二階段的主題是" PRIDEFUL LOVE " 🌈
我看到這到這個主題時有很多想法
最後我決定以這個妝來呈現這個主題～

這個妝分成兩種風格
黑白 和 彩虹

黑白的部分我想呈現出
復古、古板、憂傷、悲劇演員的感覺
來詮釋出
無法自由、被社會的傳統觀念拘束


而彩色的部分 我的概念是" Rainbow shadow "
每個人的內心都有美麗的靈魂
但因為被社會的傳統思想打壓，無法釋放自我

所以我把彩虹的區塊
畫成像是陽光照射出來的陰影面
利用暈染，還有雲朵、閃粉
來呈現出自由、繽紛夢幻的感覺

I’m so glad that I got in top 15 of 2019 NYX Face Awards
This is my first time ever being in a makeup competition, so I’m super pumped up

The 2nd stage of this competition is about “Prideful Love”
When the designated topic first released, a lot of ideas came to my mind
but I’ve decided to go with this look to interpret “Prideful Love”

This look can be divided in two parts
Black-N-White & Rainbow colors

For the Black-N-White side of my face
You could feel the old-school, old-fashioned expression of sadness, almost tragedy-like feelings
represent the repression and the obedience under traditional values

Using only black and white
to shape out the structure, color block and to blend them in seamlessly

I use body paint as base
to achieve the saturation, you have to color it over and over again and set them into places

When it comes to blending the color black
you must be gentle and do it in patience
or it will get messy real soon

You could use a light-brown color to map out the outline
then use black to line the structure
to prevent irrevocable mistake

For the colorful side
My idea is Rainbow shadow
Underneath the skin, we all have beautiful souls trying to break free
from stereotypes or antiquated mindsets

So I color the supposedly shadow part of my face in rainbow
with ombré colors, clouds and shimmers
I’d like to express the feeling of freedom and prideful

NYX ultimate shadow palette is the product used to complete the eye look
Starting from the outer corner to my inner corner then to the lower lash line
I use Pink Orange Yellow Green Blue Purple
and I use different shades from the same color scheme to achieve the ombré effect
Then use a white concealer to paint the clouds
and clean out the edges with a Q-tip
set it with white shadow
and lastly use a white liner to enhance the outline

I also use light-brown to sketch out the premises of the shadow on my face
then I repeat the process to blend the colors and draw the clouds

For the finishing touchup
I spray on some glitters, pop on a pair of lashes, put on black lipstick and some highlight
then call it a day
This is my final look

台灣一直都是很先進的國家，而且那天也成為全亞洲第一個有同性結婚法律的國家 同時也成為亞洲裡更特別的寶物

我這個外國人那天在立法院外面的現場跟著大群支持者支持這個權利。現場的氣氛那麼特別我非跟全球分享不可。

我想恭喜全部度過這個很長的一條路的人，也跟大家分享我的故事

兩年前台灣司法院出來說同性戀應該也要有權利結婚不過因為台灣法律的程序，有兩年的時間來修法律不然會自動執行

On May 17, 2019, Taiwan became the first country in Asia to make gay marriage legal! What started as a rainy turned into a beautiful sunny day just after the votes to legalize marriage for all were made, letting the rainbows worn by those at the support rally become amplified by real rainbows in the sky.

Taiwan has always been a progressive nation, and, yesterday, it became the first country in Asia to have a gay marriage law; making it an even more unique treasure here in Asia.

I was outside the building at the support rally, and the atmosphere there was so special and unique that I just had to share it with the world.

I want to offer my congratulations to all those who
have endured such a difficult journey.

I also want to share my story with you.

Two years ago, Taiwan’s Constitutional Court ruled that marriage was a right for all. Due to legal processes in Taiwan, however, there was a two year waiting period during which legislators had the opportunity to alter the law, otherwise the change would automatically go into effect.

The Legislative Yuan, the legislative branch of the government, held a hearing to vote on the proposed bills regarding same-sex marriage.
