Hari ini saya telah berjumpa para guru yang belum divaksinasi di Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim, Bukit Timbalan bersama dengan YB Dato’ Haji Azmi bin Rohani, Setiausaha Kerajaan Johor, YB Dato’ Dr. Aman bin Rabu, Pengarah Kesihatan Negeri Johor, YB Dato’ Haji Mohd Noh bin Ibrahim, Timbalan Setiausaha Kerajaan Johor (Pengurusan), Sohibus Samahah YB Dato’ Haji Yahya bin Haji Ahmad, Mufti Johor (secara maya) dan Sohibus Samahah YB Dato’ Haji Ahmad Faisal bin Mohamed, Timbalan Mufti Johor.
Saya telah mendengar ulasan dari para guru mengenai isu-isu yang mereka hadapi. Daripada 779 orang guru yang asalnya menolak vaksin, didapati hanya 396 yang tidak mengambil vaksin atas sebab keraguan terhadap vaksin. Yang bakinya telah mengambil pendirian untuk ditangguhkan buat masa ini, kerana mempunyai alahan, mengandung, ataupun keadaan kesihatan yang tidak mengizinkan. Sebilangan guru kini telah bersetuju mendaftar untuk mengambil vaksin.
Dalam perjumpaan ini juga, saya telah berkongsi info mengenai program vaksinasi di negeri Johor dan situasi terkini pandemik Covid-19 di negeri Johor.
Saya berharap guru-guru ini sedar tanggungjawab mereka untuk sentiasa mengetengahkan pembangunan modal insan dengan menjadi teladan yang baik dan berharap mereka akan mengambil vaksin sebelum sekolah dibuka semula demi memastikan kesihatan dan kesejahteraan rakyat.

Today, I met with teachers who have yet to be been vaccinated at Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim, Bukit Timbalan together with Johor State Secretary YB Dato' Haji Azmi Bin Rohani, Johor Health Director YB Dato' Dr. Aman bin Rabu, Johor Deputy State Secretary (Management) YB Dato' Haji Mohd Noh bin Ibrahim, Johor Mufti Sohibus Samahah YB Dato' Haji Yahya bin Ahmad (virtually) and Johor Deputy Mufti Sohibus Samahah YB Dato' Haji Ahmad Faisal bin Mohamed.
I heard the teachers' explanations on issues faced by them. Of the 779 teachers who initially rejected the vaccine, only 396 rejected it due to doubts about the vaccine. The remainder decided to postpone it for now due to allergies, pregnancies or health conditions. There were some teachers who have now agreed to register to take the vaccine.
During the meeting, I also shared information regarding the vaccination programme in Johor and the latest Covid-19 pandemic situation in Johor.
I hope the teachers realise their responsibilities in always prioritising the development of model citizens by setting good examples and hope they would take the vaccine before schools reopen to ensure the rakyat's health and well-being.

Can’t believe it’s already August.
We’ve spent almost 1 1/2 years living in fear and under lockdown.
While we can’t control the number of rising Covid cases but what we can do is practise acceptance.
Accept that this is how our lives are going to be indefinitely and take it a day at a time.
Worrying is not the answer to any of our problems, instead, do things that make you feel good in the now.
I know everyone is tired, angry, jaded and frustrated at the situation. I am too. Sometimes, I don't even know what to say to myself anymore to keep myself motivated. But all I know is, the only way is through.
In hindsight, there’s no better time than now to be more mindful and thoughtful in planning your inputs;�
• Food choices
• Conversations you engage in
• Who you give your time and energy to
• What you consume digitally
• What you do to your body
Understand that what enters your mind and body shapes your health, attitude and emotional well being.
�Stay reasonably fit, keep a healthy weight and get enough rest!

I was forwarded this tweet too many times today, and yes the statement caught my attention for 3 very important reasons:
1. People are constantly upset with what she shares in her tweet where they’re expecting good news, hope and good faith from frontliners.
2. Many are worried for her own physical, mental health and well being considering she is directly responsible for many under her care daily.
3. People are worried about our country too. And as humans, we always look for leaders to guide us to a brighter path.
I feel that a publicly known member of the country’s front-liners should not dampen the spirits of the people. Of course, I’m not part of the frontliners I cannot represent them, but we don’t need negative news, and we surely don’t need to get our hopes broken.
Yes, we are all humans and everyone goes through different complex emotions every day, especially during these trying times. But we cannot give up. We must speak good thoughts, good prayers and encourage everyone to keep their spirits up and do what’s right.
I empathize with all frontliners, all medical authorities and everyone working in this field. I mostly empathize with her, especially when she chooses to pour her feelings out in public and she is met with a lot of negative feedback. She is only being human, everyone. Please give her a break.
She has since deleted and apologized about the statement. I pray that she remains strong and dedicated to the fight against this pandemic and the obstacles that the medical frontliners face to make things right again.
