Today, I had the opportunity to interview Howard and Wesley about learning English through movies. Here are some useful tips.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
1. When you watch a movie for the first time, don’t worry about anything. Just enjoy it. Find a movie that interests you. Do not read reviews ahead of time and accidentally spoil everything. If you want, you can jot down difficult words or confusing points during the film.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
2. Most people focus on reading the captions when they watch a movie. We recommend not doing this the first time and only focusing on the captions when you really need to understand something.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
3. After the movie, look up the words you had difficulty understanding. You can also read about key elements that were confusing. Some points to consider are the plot, themes, and symbolisms. Read about the director’s thoughts on the film, and learn things that you did not initially discover. For entertainment, read reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, IMDb, and Metacritic to see what others think of the film.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
4. If you have time, watch the movie again now that you have a better understanding of it. Analyze the film and focus on the parts you did not understand the first time.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
5. Have a discussion with a friend. Better yet, watch the movie with a friend the second time and compare and contrast your reactions and thoughts. Learning should be a collaborative process!
★★★★★★★★★★★★
6. Write a movie review for more practice! Write about the plot, actor performance, themes, and anything that comes to mind. Check your grammar on a site like Grammarly and publish your review! See what others say and edit your work. Use what you learn!
★★★★★★★★★★★★
That’s about it. The most important thing is to enjoy the movie. Learning is more effective when you have motivation! If you are interested in learning more, check out the following link!

Just came back from the premiere of Ghostbusters — the 2016 movie. *shakingbonbon* Yes, I've always been a super fan of Ghostbusters — the TV series at my childhood (my generation? your generation? gap!); and yes, I've been waiting for this to come on screen for a while; and yes, I've got super excited ever since the classic music intro started to fade in............ Until now. *stillhummingnonstop*
Err, I have to admit that I'm such a huge fan till I could hardly determine whether or not this movie is a great one, I could hardly stay fair here, but hey I love the humors injected in lots! Obviously efforts been putting into the dialogues blended so well making me lol all along the plot flows. You might not love this, but I love it! Serious! Few last words? Thankyou Abby, for what I've learnt for requesting the reasonable ratio between soup and wanton on my next orders perhaps; and hey Chris Hemsworth, you made it! You made it! Where you made it to be 'that' kind of man I would have hated hell lots in there. Hahahahaha!
Last, last word? If you're a fan, too, like me, watch it baybehs. (Music fades in) 「dénehdénehdéne............. #pplmightyellwtfisthishahahaha」 I LOVE GB. 🤘🏻😎
