When I pray in tongues, I receive revelations, prophetic words, and visions. Sometimes also words of knowledge for fellow believers who need healing or are struggling with an area in their life.
Praying with the understanding can become difficult and tiring as the mind struggles to find words to pray.
However, with praying in tongues, the utterances supplied by the Holy Spirit just roll off the tongue.
I can even pray in tongues while reading a book or doing my other types of work, proving that it’s not gibberish fabricated by the mind, but rather it’s from the Spirit in your spirit, so the mind does not have to be activated for it.
In my opinion, praying in tongues is the prayer of perfect faith because you have to trust that you are praying for the right things according to God’s will since you cannot understand what you’re saying.
You must have full trust in God, that whatever you are saying will work for your good, and not produce an outcome that you dislike or dread.
This inability to understand what you’re saying in tongues works for your good. Your mind cannot doubt what it does not understand.
If we knew what we were saying in tongues, many of us would be scared and not leave home. If the words were intelligible, the devil would be able to form some kind of counterattack to stop God’s plans.
I am glad that through tongues we can pray without understanding what we are saying. This way, we can cooperate with God to speak His will to pass.
Keep this life-giving river flowing by muttering in tongues under your breath throughout the day. This is how you can pray and give thanks to God at all times in a restful and easy way.
No devil, man, nor our own unbelief can hinder the good things that are coming as a result of praying the pure words of God!

It’s Him, Not You!
“Come now therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh, that you may bring my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.” Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” He said, “Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”” (Exodus 3:10-12 WEB)
When God says “I will send you,” it means that He has prepared everything you need to accomplish the task, even His miracle-working power.
Moses had fled from Egypt after accidentally killing an Egyptian soldier many years ago and was still haunted by the fear and shame of what happened back then. This traumatic event caused Moses to become self-conscious, with an inferiority complex.
When God said “I will”, Moses said “Who am I”. Moses’ focus is wrong because the ability and worthiness was never found in him, but in God.
When God sends you, it is not because you are good, but because He chooses you, and that makes you the perfect person for the job. He can transform someone who is utterly incapable to become a mighty vessel to showcase His power.
“Moses answered, “But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, ‘Yahweh has not appeared to you.’” Yahweh said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.” He said, “Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it. Yahweh said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand, and take it by the tail.” He stretched out his hand, and took hold of it, and it became a rod in his hand. “That they may believe that Yahweh, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.” Yahweh said furthermore to him, “Now put your hand inside your cloak.” He put his hand inside his cloak, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous, as white as snow. He said, “Put your hand inside your cloak again.” He put his hand inside his cloak again, and when he took it out of his cloak, behold, it had turned again as his other flesh. “It will happen, if they will not believe you or listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”” (Exodus 4:1-9 WEB)
Moses was still self-conscious, feeling unqualified for the huge task. God gave him two supernatural signs to cause the people to believe. When God sends you to deliver a message, you are not relying on persuasive speeches and cunningly devised words, but on the power of God.
“My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5 WEB)
The world has no access to this power, so it has to depend on natural speaking techniques only, but God can give you favor with men, cause miracles to happen as you speak, and stir the hearts of the listeners through the Holy Spirit. Don’t rule out the supernatural.
“Moses said to Yahweh, “O Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.” Yahweh said to him, “Who made man’s mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn’t it I, Yahweh? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall speak.” He said, “Oh, Lord, please send someone else.”” (Exodus 4:10-13 WEB)
Even after receiving the direct mandate from God, and two supernatural signs to convince the people with, Moses was still focused on himself and his lack of ability.
He disqualified himself based on his weaknesses, but this is because he didn’t have the New Covenant revelation that God’s power is made perfectly clear in our weaknesses.
In the very area of his weakness (mouth), God promised to be with him. When God is with you in something, it will surely prosper exceedingly and abundantly above all that you can think or imagine.
Moses was still afraid and asked God to send someone else. God was angry at his unbelief, and the anointing of speech was eventually given to Aaron (Moses’ brother) instead. Moses missed out on receiving God’s powerful grace, and settled for relying on Aaron to be his spokesman.
The apostle Paul also learned the revelation of receiving God’s strength through his own life experience.
“He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 WEB)
If you are like Moses who was slow of speech and ineloquent, or if you are weak in any other area, see that as a qualification to receive God’s great power in that area. It is precisely because you are weak that you are God’s perfect candidate for the job. When you are weak, then you are strong because the power of Christ will rest on you!
Receive God’s miracles, just like how Jesus freely dispensed miracles while He was on earth: https://bit.ly/messiahs-miracles

The River with All Fishes
There was a fishing competition held in the Village of Dreams. The first one to bring back all the different kids of fishes in the list would win. A special condition—they had to be fresh.
Tom and Ben, childhood best friends, were both taking part. Tom was so excited. He wanted to win Ben in the competition. He went around asking the villagers for directions, and they told him about far off ponds and lakes where specific fishes could be found.
Tom hiked for a long time to reach the pond of confidence. It was rumored that many red fishes congregated there. He happily caught a few and left.
The next location, the lake of honesty, was very far away. It took a few days journey to reach there and the red fishes he caught were turning bad because of the intense heat.
He caught some blue fishes at the lake of honesty, and headed off for the waterfall of love. Tom felt so nauseous because the red fishes were rotting and the blue fishes were also spoiling faster than usual. Tom quickly caught a few pink fishes from the waterfall and left.
He went on to a few more locations to catch the other colored fishes stated in the list.
Looking at the time and date, Tom panicked and hurried back to the village before the last moments of the competition.
Almost all the fishes Tom caught had rotted and bred worms so he had to throw those away. He came back in tears and just as he reached the competition booth, Ben walked past him with a basketful of fresh, colorful fishes.
“How did you do it, Ben? I went to so many places and tried my best to catch the fishes, but every time I reached a new place, the old fishes would rot,” Tom said in dismay.
Ben smiled and replied, “Oh, I know of a river that has all the fishes stated on the list. So I just rested until the last day of the competition, and caught them all at the same time at the river. I just came back from there.”
Tom couldn’t believe his ears. He was busy taking advice from so many people to visit too many locations that he made it impossible for himself to win the competition.

Moral of the short story: Trying to cultivate different good personality traits individually is a waste of time. Once you change your focus to working on another, you will lose the first one because the flesh’s ability to mimic the fruits of the Holy Spirit is limited.
Jesus is like the river with all different kinds of fishes. Just rest in Him and you’ll find everything you need to win in life.
The fruit of the Holy Spirit will manifest in your life when you just focus on how Jesus’ finished work at the cross has made you perfectly righteous, and when you just want to be led by the Holy Spirit every day.
“But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33 WEB)
