In a normal sports calendar, preparation for Olympics usually took a year or two. That’s when you went through the Olympic qualifiers. That’s when you gained your Olympic points. That’s when you try to break the Olympic qualifying time. As the event got nearer, most likely you would sharpen your skills , toughen your drills and strengthen your mental strength in special programs organized by MSN or your respective sport bodies.
Today marks 30 days before the biggest sports event in the world. I admit this time might be different. A pandemic-torn Olympic. Preparation are hardly like before. But the difference might turn out kind for some , especially the darkhorses. It’s the time for the only the tough to get going.
Coincides with the Olympic Day as well, I would like to send a “war-cry like” to fellow Malaysian Olympians. “Be an eternal Malaysia hero”.
When I beat Lin Dan in my last ever Olympic victory match, nothing beat the proudness and honour. I was dead tired at that time in the semis. I thought I would have lost to Lin Dan again. But I told myself not to let down the 32million prayers back home. Giving me the extra mile to clinch the winning point. How the country celebrated was still fresh in my mind. Imagine the national eruption if my tired body didn’t give way and I could beat Chen Long the day after?
I missed my chance. It’s your turn now, comrades.
Remember. Everytime you wear the national crest and enter the arena, tell yourself that you are not alone. Behind you together marching in with you, are 32 million our people praying for you, cheering for you. Be a Malaysian…..hero.

2020 definitely wasn’t easy for anyone and for me, it was even harder. When I lost my beloved dad, there was sadness inside me, like a little girl trapped inside me. I was hurting and alone. That year, I only remember the relationship with pain and trauma.
Each night, when I went on the mat and did my yoga flow, it was the only time I felt safe.
Time by time, day by day, Yoga is the royal path to healing, discovering one-self and transformation to be able to explore the better me and my won beauty therapy. We should embrace everyday and believe that you are worth loving. Simply just remember.

I am sure most of you have watched countless sourdough videos available out there, and most are mix by hand tutorials.
If you find joy in touching your dough and don’t mind the mess, well, good for you ??
But if you prefer a no-fuss and less messy way without compromising the end result, this recipe is for you!
See, I am impatient. I work a mentally demanding full time job, and when I make sourdough, I don’t like to fuss over them.
Normally, I maximise my yield for each batch by making 4-6 (sometimes 8!) loaves of sourdough, because making 1 or 10 loaves to me takes the same amount of preparation and effort.
Anyway, here’s the recipe.
Enjoy!
Ingredients:
300g Bob’s Artisan Bread Flour (or any high protein bread flour, at least 12-13% protein)
65g starter (tripled, use at peak)
233g water (room temperature)
6g Pink Himalayan Salt (or regular salt)
Method:
1. Autolyse 30 minutes
2. Add starter, mix, wait 15 minutes (I sometimes add salt together with starter when I am not in the mood and still get great results)
3. Add salt, mix, wait 15 minutes
4. Transfer to a bulking dish
5. Coil fold x 1
6. Coil fold x 2
7. Coil fold x 3
8. Coil fold x 4 - skip this step if your dough is strong
9. Leave to bulk
10. Total bulk 4 hours at 28C
11. Final shape
12. Cold retard overnight at 3C - make sure your fridge temperature no more than 3C!
13. Preheat oven at 250C, fan mode, for 1 hour
14. Bake at 250C, fan mode, for 35 minutes, lid close
15. And 250C, fan mode, for 5 minutes, lid off
16. Let bread cool completely before cutting, at least 1 hour

Notes:
Always begin with a strong and healthy starter.
Make sure your dough has increased 50% in size.
As beginners, I know it is very hard to determine if your dough has finished its bulk fermentation based on the look and feel, due to the lack of experience. I know that feeling very well, because I was once that lost, clueless beginner myself.
After tinkering with sourdough for about a year, I have come up with a rough timing guide for bulk fermentation based on room/kitchen temperature, well, sort of like a cheat sheet, so you can get the hang of sourdough bread making and get good results every time.
Remember, bulk fermentation starts when starter is mixed into the dough.

Too many big dreams, too many failures, too many disappointments despite all the achievements in life will give us at least a little impact even if we don't put it into our head.
For me, all of these disappointments gives me huge anxiety. I am always worried about my future. I am always unhappy though I have too many great projects to work with.
These projects that I am working on are my achievements yet I am still thinking about the things that I didn't achieve and adding more anxiety in my life.
I couldn't figure things out. Why on earth I am feeling like this? Is it me or am I really a loser who achieved nothing in life?
I started reading a lot as usual so I can gain some insights about myself.
What I found gave me temporary relief and it created a path to the permanent solution.
Gratitude.
I was working with amazing brands like Loreal, Shopee and Guardian yet I was so dissatisfied. It is because I wasn't being grateful for what happened.
I wasn't thanking the moment that happened to me. I knew long ago that I was lacking empathy. Gratitude too? Perplexed.
Then I took a second to myself and thought, "what on earth is gratitude? How on earth I do it?"
Well, honestly I am still working on my gratitude skills. Yet, I feel so much better than before and so much confident than ever.
Especially with the recession that is happening, I need my confidence the most right now.
How to show gratitude?
Things will go wrong cause somehow life is full of ups and downs. Rather than complaining and feeling low, you can start seeing the positivity behind each problem.
Lost your job? Maybe, this is the time for you to explore yourself and get a better opportunity in life. Be grateful that it happened.
Quarantined and bored? Maybe, this is the time to start the blog you was always talking about *Learn how to start a blog with me (One to one online class). Hehehehe.
Maybe it is time to start your novel? Maybe its time to start the online business that you have always dreamed off.
All the things that have happened in your life, be thankful and show them your gratitude. Say thanks for each small help you're getting. Start looking at the other side of a coin and appreciate it.
Believe that everything happens for a good reason and God will never give a challenge that you can't handle.
Your perception about a lot of things will change and you will start having only good energy around when you start seeing everything with a grateful mind.
Remember creating a positive vibe is important. Showing gratitude makes you have so much positive energy within you and it gives you the courage to move on in life with great strength.
