Taking a whimsical approach to craft and tradition, Cormio draws on the tensions between city and countryside. Jezabelle Cormio, who graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Antwerp in 2013, founded the Milan-based womenswear label in 2019 and inaugurated her first collection in a village festival in the Lombardian town of Seveso. The Tyrolese-Austrian world is a strong influence on her designs.

Closing the day, the question ‘Can machines save our planet?’ was discussed between filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, adventurer and environmentalist David de Rothschild and Africa Flores-Anderson, a scientist who works on a joint initiative between NASA and the United States Agency for International Development. “We live on Earth, we think we’ve conquered it, we think we’ve understood it, we think we’re the superior species. But yet we know so little,” David de Rothschild.

During Men’s Fashion Week, artist Silvia Calderoni from Motus—an independent Italian theatre company—performed her work ‘MDLSX’ at the Gucci Hub in Milan. Combining autobiographical narrative and literary references, the performance seeks to escape from every
possible categorization.
