我簽唱片約了！
親愛的大家，我要在此正式宣佈「我現在是華納音樂的藝人了！」

這幾年來，其實我收到很多不同唱片公司的合約。有馬來西亞、大陸、香港、和台灣…等，但我覺得並沒有一個是最適合我的。因此，我就繼續當一位獨立歌手。

當華納和我第一次見面的時候，我們就一見如故，因為公司和我有同樣的理念，也有相同的目標，以至於我們雙方很快達成了未來的共識。再經過了一段時間的討論，我便確定這是我想參與、想要一起努力的團隊。

自我從美國來到台灣，我嘗試接觸過許多各式各樣的工作，但唯獨「音樂」是在我人生當中一直持續保持的，甚至還越做越喜歡，越做越有靈感和熱情。

以前，我只是一個在網路上練習唱中文歌的路人，然後慢慢開始嘗試自己創作中文歌，直到現在，成為一位國際唱片公司的藝人。
今天，可以成為華納唱片的新人，真的是對於過去的點點滴滴，有著別具意義的肯定。

今天，可以說是我人生中很特別的轉捩點，更是迎接下一個新階段的第一天。
對我來說實在是非常非常重要。

我要在這裡跟我的粉絲、家人和朋友說謝謝。沒有你們就不會有今天。是你們鼓勵了我並分享我的音樂。真心感謝大家的支持祝福！
我也誠摯的希望每一位，你們都可以一起陪我往前走、和華納共同努力，創作出最好的音樂。

I just signed my first major label record deal! Everyone, I’m happy to announce I have officially signed to Warner Music!

Over the past few years, I’ve gotten different record deal offers from labels in Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc. However, none of them felt right. I knew what I wanted to give up and what I didn’t. So I stayed independent all these years.

When Warner and I met, we clicked right away. We had the same vision, I knew it was something I wanted to do. This was the right team for me and I wanted to be a part of it.

I’ve tried doing so many different things since moving to Taiwan. But music has been the most consistent thing in my life and the love I had for it only seemed to grow more as I gotten older.

I was just a kid making videos on YouTube, trying to practice singing in mandarin. Now I’m an artist at a huge major label. All my hard work paid off.

Today is the first day of the next chapter of my life. It’s a big transition I’m about to take and it is very important to me.

I want to say thank you to my fans, supporters, family and friends because without each and every one of you none of this would be possible. Thank you for following me and watching all the covers and originals I’ve made over the past few years. I hope you guys can come along for the ride while I team up with Warner Music to make the best music possible.

身為英國著名樂團UNKLE的首腦 、Mo’Wax音樂廠牌創始人，多年來James Lavelle與DJ Shadow、Radiohead主唱Thom Yorke、DJ Krush、Mike D等世界頂尖音樂人合作發行了無數音樂作品，並建立起「Trip Hop」的不敗地位。此外，擔任知名品牌如：Nike、Converse以及日本潮流教主Nigo長期合作夥伴、邀請Futura 創作經典的Point Man圖像，James Lavelle的一舉一動永遠是全球潮流時尚的領導指標。

Everything James Lavelle has created and initiated has been driven by the same irrepressible sense of curiosity and an incorruptible willingness to take risks. The music released today under the banner of UNKLE is very different from early UNKLE records. The spirit is the same.

2014 was a landmark year for independent music svengali James Lavelle. Coinciding with his 40th birthday he launched Mo’ Wax21: Urban Archaeology - a mind blowing Kickstarter resourced exhibition and a lavish Rizzoli published book to celebrate the 21st birthday of Mo’ Wax records, the label he launched as a teenager. He was also the curator for Meltdown on London’ s South Bank. Joining a long list musical luminaries such as Yoko Ono, Ornette Coleman, Massive Attack, Nick Cave, John Peel, Lee ‘ Scratch’ Perry, Patti Smith, amongst others, is according to James, “one of the proudest moments of my life in music so far.”

Since the early Nineties James Lavelle has been on a global roller coaster ride. It’ s taken him from being an obsessive 18 year old indie record label boss to the heart of corporate record company darkness and back to the light with an array of dynamic visual adventures based around the collective musical experience of his UNKLE project. A child of the sampling generation, he has honed his curatorial skills while riding the tidal wave of information technology. The Nineties were hectic - an endless cycle of clubbing and unfettered creativity and his Mo’ Wax label was bold, irreverent and “Kicking More Phunk Than A Shaolin Monk”. He released a flood of hip, deftly packaged 12”singles and ventured far and wide in search of like-minded souls. He forged links with Japan’ s hip hop originals Major Force and DJ Krush but it was in Oakland California that he found the future - Josh Davis aka DJ Shadow.

In ‘ 96 Rolling Stone magazine declared Mo’ Wax as the true source of ‘ Trip Hop’ - a decision underpinned by the aural impact of DJ Shadow’ s ‘ In/Flux’ 12” single – but In reality, it was the ‘ Headz’ compilation, released in ‘ 94, complete with cover art by Massive Attack’ s 3D that took ‘ trip hop’ worldwide. What followed was DJ Shadow’ s skillfully crafted ‘ Endtroducing’ LP – a homage to his trusty Akai MPC60 and a seminal slab of vinyl that has since notch up sales in excess of a million. A label deal with A&M appeared to give James the freedom to pursue the Mo’ Wax grail and UNKLE was chosen to deliver the vision. DJ Shadow took on the producer role of ‘ Psyence Fiction’ . Meanwhile James commissioned Futura2000 to provide the artwork and succeeded in enlisting Radiohead’ s Thom Yorke and ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft to the project. It was a radical venture that predictably met with the glint of sharpened critical knives. A combination of youth and boundary breaking ambition has never endeared James Lavelle to the critics. Ironically, the deal-breaker when signing to A&M records was a Jean-Michel Basquiat drawing that declared “Cowards with get rid of you, the sky is the limit”. It proved an apt warning. At the dawn of the new millennium A&M imploded andtook Mo’ Wax with it. Financial uncertainty ensued. He sold the Basquiat, reverted to his DJ career and pressed on with UNKLE.

James Lavelle loves DJing. It’ s back to basics. He describes his five year long residency at Fabric as “insane” and is happy to point out that he’ s had residencies in all of the Top 10 clubs in the world including Zouk and Womb.

Obsessed with the collision of music, fashion and art James forged links with Nigo at A Bathing Ape and launched Mo' Wax Arts to translate Futura 2000’ s concepts and images into merchandise, toys and fashion. He was mates with iconoclastic London fashion genius Lee Alexander McQueen and continues to work with McQueen collaborators Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones. Daydreaming with.... James Lavelle was launched at London’ s Museum Of Mankind and has produced collaborations with celebrated artists like Jonathan Glazer, 3D, Jonas Burget, Doug Foster and Turner Prize nominee Nathan Coley.

In 2005, he set up Surrender - a clothing line and boutique record label dedicated to all things UNKLE. Over a five period they produced three UNKLE albums - ‘ War Stories’ , ‘ End Titles- Stories For Films’ , ‘ Where Did Night Fall’ and around 150 tracks. UNKLE's progression in the studio from a classic hip hop aesthetic to breakbeats-meet-house to electronica to rock has also been instrumental in UNKLE manifesting as a live band that’ s successfully toured the world.

The UNKLE crew has been populated by a bunch of serious players who have made a massive impact on the UK music scene and beyond. Tim Goldsworthy set up DFA records, Nick Huggett signed Adele, M.I.A and Dizzee Rascal, Damian Taylor is Bjork’ s right hand person, Cameron Craig is a Grammy winning engineer and Jim Abiss and Paul Epworth are both producers at the top the game – think: Adele, Kasabian, Plan B, Florence & The Machine. Another UNKLE veteran Toby Feltwell went on to run Bathing Ape and Billionaire Boys Club with Nigo and Pharrell.

Here in lies the journey of a hip hop, subway art, Massive Attack obsessed kid from Oxford. It’ s been a wild and mind expanding journey. His focus is always on the future. Watch this space.

After all these years, he had been in the same stage with many world famous super Groups/DJs, such as The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, Paul Okenfold, Boys Noize, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Bad Company, Adam Freeland, James Lavelle(UNKLE), Andy C, DJ Hype, BT, DJ Marky & XRS, FPM, Diplo, Sub Focus, Dexpistols, Evil Nine, VERBAL(m-flo)…etc. More importantly, in the year 2004 fall, DJ Mykal and one of the most singer-songwriter, Chang Chen-Yue(張震嶽) were both invited by the famous live house “House Of Blues” for a US tour in over 10 cities in US. After that, DJ Mykal keep on organizing parties and has been DJing overseas in Okinawa, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan(Yellow/WOMB/ageHa/Trump Room/Sound Museum Vision)!!! Besides, DJ Mykal has been DJing for fashion shows of famous brands like Christian Dior, Marc Jacobs, Adidas Originals, Puma…etc. In 2007, DJ Mykal released his first official DJ-Mix Album "Original Brainchild" featuring tracks from Pulp, U2, The Killers, Limp Bizkit, DJ Shadow, UNKLE, Stereo MCs, Weezer...etc. It definitly shows DJ Mykal's eclectic choice and terrific DJ-Mixing skills. In the end of 2015, DJ Mykal’s releasing hissecond official DJ-Mix album "ELEKTROTEQUE BASS WEAPONZ Vol 1.1". In the end of 2012, DJ Mykal was working with Pilot K to released his debut single "ELEKTROTEQUE BASS WEAPONZ：Steppin' Forward" including remixes by Naeleck(France), Kan Takahiko(Japan) & Clash The Disko Kids(Singapore), and supported by superstar DJs like Taku Takahashi(m-flo), Congorock…etc.!!! In the end of 2013, Mykal and Pilot K formed the duo "MKP" officially and featured in FPM's remix album!!!

Cecilia Chow , Music programmer at Baybeats music festival

Cecilia Chow is a music programmer at Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay who leads the Baybeats music festival and the daily Free Performances music series. Trained in multimedia and film studies, Cecilia started her journey in performing arts as a backstage volunteer. She has since been involved in several music presentations and various creative multidisciplinary productions, including the 2007 Singapore President Design Award-winning 0501 by The Finger Players.

Currently in its 15th year, Baybeats is an annual free alternative music festival in Southeast Asia. Showcasing Singapore and international acts, Baybeats presents a fist-pumping line-up across music genres including indie, folk, metal, post-rock, punk, electro and everything in between. The festival’s Budding initiative gathers aspiring home-grown talent who are mentored by leading industry experts in music, music journalism, gig photography and video arts.

新加坡 Baybeats 音樂節 – 音樂策劃人

Cecilia Chow為濱海藝術中心的音樂策劃人，負責策劃Baybeats 音樂節及濱海藝術中心的免費音樂演出。Chow在學時主修多媒體及電影，畢業後義務擔任舞台後台工作，展開其演藝生涯。她曾參與的音樂及多媒體演出製作，包括劇團十指幫（The Finger Players）獲得2007年度總統設計大獎的作品《0501》。

Baybeats是新加坡一年一度的免費搖滾音樂節，本年已踏入第十五個年頭，每年邀請新加坡本地以及世界各地風格多元的樂團演出。音樂節的Budding Bands嚮導計劃，邀請音樂工業的翹楚，包括音樂人、音樂記者、攝影師等，指導具備潛質的本地音樂人，傳授他們在行業的心得。

Dawson Ludwig is the General Manager of Noise Pop Industries, a Bay Area based events and marketing company responsible for Treasure Island Music Festival, Noise Pop Festival, Swedish American Hall and DoTheBay.com. Dawson began his career in the music industry as a radio promoter for the New York based independent label Organic Ent. (Billy Harvey) and then for the London based label One Little Indian (Bjork). He moved to San Francisco in 2009 where he began working with Noise Pop as their marketing director. He helped expand the Noise Pop brand by launching website DoTheBay, part of the DoStuff Media Network. In 2014 Dawson became a partner in Noise Pop, taking on the General Manager role. Since taking the lead at Noise Pop he’s helped grow the existing Noise Pop properties: Treasure Island and Noise Pop Festival. He’s also helped launch new properties including Swedish American Hall, 20th St.Block Party and the Noise Pop Podcast.

Shen Lihui, the founder of Modern Sky Entertainment, Ltd., which is the most celebrated new music brand in China, vocal of Sober band, and he is also a record producer.
He has found Modern Sky in 1997, and soon released the first album of his own band, Sober. With a sharp eye of original music and independent music market, he scouted loads of independent musicians, including New Pants, Supermarket, XTX, Song Dongye, Ma Di, Second Hand Rose, Miserable Faith, and Maggie Cheung, who represent the full potential of Chinese independent music of the time. As the largest independent record label in China, Modern Sky Records now has more than 200 releases and 40 artists, since founded in 1997.

As the largest music festival operator in China, Modern Sky held Modern Sky Music Festival, Strawberry Music Festival, Greenfest Music Festival, 500 KM Music Festival Kunming and other large-scale outdoor music festivals. In 2014, Modern Sky Music Festival has been towards New York City, which marked the international recognition of
Modern Sky. And in 2015, Modern Sky Music Festival will be held in Helsinki Finland, New York City and Seattle in America.

Plus, Modern Sky has been continuing the expansion of its business landscape. Recently, it shows ambition in three field, Internet, venue operating and artist tour. In 2014, Modern Sky poured capital injection into Pogo App, served music festival audience in ticketing, information requiring, tips and other aspects. Now Pogo App is a very integrated service application tailor-made for music festival in China. In 2005, Modern Sky introduced Modern Sky Now, which is a leading O2O online living- broadcasting platform, focusing on music festival as their core contents.
In the same year, Modern Sky founded Modern Sky Lab in Beijing, which is its first physical art center. And then, it claimed that a brand-new model of artists’ tour will happen in theater. It’s not that large as gym, but with a good potential to improve sound and lighting comparing to live-house. Modern Sky Entertainment, Ltd. now does artists agent, record production and release, music event sponsorship and production, outdoor festivals, artists’ tours, art center and online issues. There’s no doubt that these steps contributed to Modern Sky’s leading statement in China.

沈黎暉
摩登天空創辦人

摩登天空創辦人、樂隊「清醒」的主音歌手、唱片製作人。沈氏於1997年創辦摩登天空，隨即為個人樂隊「清醒」推出唱片。憑藉銳利的音樂觸覺，沈氏先後發掘了新褲子、超級市場、謝天笑、宋冬野、馬頔、二手玫瑰、痛仰、張曼玉等於中國獨立音樂舉足輕重名字。目前摩登天空旗下擁有四十餘組樂隊及藝人，迄今出品逾200張。摩登天空現為中國最大型的音樂節主辦單位，舉辦摩登天空音樂節、草莓音樂節、樂堡綠放音樂節、五百里城市音樂節，以及其他多個大型音樂活動。2014年，摩登天空音樂節首度登陸美國紐約，翌年先後在芬蘭赫爾辛基、美國紐約及西雅圖舉行，見證了品牌在國際音樂圈的發展。
