My Kids love sweet potatoes. Sometimes we just steam them and eat them for breakfast or snacks. It’s rich in an antioxidant called beta carotene, which is very effective at raising blood levels of vitamin A, particularly in children. Sweet potatoes are nutritious, high in fiber, very filling, and delicious. They can be eaten boiled, baked, steamed, or fried. So today I want to try steaming them and making them into a roll. I like warm desserts, this can be one warm dessert that I will start making more often.
Ingredients for 1 foot long roll:
Step1:
. 320g Sweet potato (orange colour or others)
. 265g milk * Mix these 2 together first into a smooth paste and steam for 20 mins
Step 2:
. 110g Glutinous rice flour
. 30g Cornstarch
. 50g sugar (you can reduce amount or don't put at all)
. 30g Corn oil or coconut oil
* Mix STEP 1's paste with STEP 2 ingredients, BUT mix in the oil last. Then steam for 25 mins. After steaming, roll the dough for over 20+ times and then cling wrap and lift in the refrigerator for 1 hour before you roll it flat with cooked flour.
Cooked Flour For Rolling Ingredients:
. 50g Glutinous rice flour
* Must be cooked in a pan until it turns slight yellowish (no oil)
Actually it is pretty simple. Maya reminded me that we have red bean paste, so I have added a small red bean sweet potato roll for her. Not too bad I must say. The sugar in my video was being reduced, I will actually put a little more if you want it to be a sweet dessert. Try it then you will know how to adjust in your next cooking.
Have a great weekend everyone.

⭕️WHERE TO PLACE THE WEIGHT ON YOUR FEET⭕️
-
Ever found yourself struggling with knee pain when squatting? Got flat feet? Knees bend inwards?
-
WORK ON YOUR ARCHES! I struggled with this myself, back in the days, because I do have flat feet.
-
Strengthening/building an arch is crucial when it comes to having a great squat: developing an arch will allow your knees to bend outwards thanks to the external rotation cue implemented by the arch itself to the top, as opposed to having the weight placed on your inner part of the foot, which'll cause everything else to rotate internally and cause pain as a result If you dont have flat feet it doesn't matter.
-
When the weight gets heavy your arches will tend to fall internally, so if that's the case, make some extra effort to keep the arch strong through the entire repetition. It's not like flat feet is "BAD", but the way the forces act on it (especially when overloded) can cause troubles.
-
Actively work on your arch and make sure that you're giving your feet an external rotation cue which wil eventually make your knees bend outwards.
-
It'll take time and it'll feel awkward, but it'll improve your squats 100 % !

Here you'll see my learning how to jerk.
You'll see a few funny things in this video as well, because my host translated EVERYTHING, including the coach's insults. The jerk, has been something I've struggled forever, because when I was always jerking from the heels. I could not understand the jerk at all.
After these lessons, I've been playing with it and have gotten some significant improvements. The ankle, truly is the missing link for a lot of people in the pull and in the jerk. He also reminded me that nobody will ever get under the bar, no matter how fast, if there is not enough height in the bar. So just go all the way up, before driving under.
Notice how bad my drive was when I was driving off the heels and flat. When I raised them, I finally got the right "feeling". The jerk, looks so simple, but really complex.
PS: I ran to the corner because my foot was sore, from the way he wanted me to jerk.
EDIT: I'm not saying "heels" is a bad cue or toes is a good cue. It was just a cue that functioned effectively for me. I just had to think "Drive from toes" and everything worked.
