(1) I'm busy.
(2) I'm as busy as a bee.
(3) I'm as busy as a beaver.
(4) I'm swamped with a lot of work.
(5) I'm snowed under.
(6) I have a lot on my plate. = My plate is full.
(7) I have my hands full.
(8) I'm up to my ears in other work.
(9) I'm buried with work.

1. have a lot / so much on one’s plate: có nhiều việc phải lo
E.g.
A: You wanna come to the party with us tonight?
B: Thanks for the invite, but I’m having a lot on my plate right now, so I think I’m gonna pass.
(pass = don’t want to go somewhere / don’t want to be a part of something)
2. be up to one’s ears in something: to be very busy
E.g. I’m a senior at university, so as you can imagine, I’m always up to my ears in deadlines.
3. be drowning in something: to have more of something than you are able to deal with (đang bơi trong…)
E.g.
- I’m drowning in unpaid bills.
- I’m literally drowning in assignments right now; I don’t even have time to eat. (literally để nhấn mạnh)
4. be snowed under (with something): to have more things, especially work, than you feel able to deal with
E.g.
- I’d love to come but I'm completely snowed under at the moment.
- During Christmas, Santa Claus may be snowed under with letters from children all around the world asking for the latest iPhone.
5. have a hectic schedule: có một lịch trình bận rộn
E.g. I’ve got a pretty hectic schedule at work, but I love it ‘cuz I’m passionate about what I’m doing.
6. have a heavy workload: có một lượng việc nhiều
E.g. At school I have a very heavy workload you know. I’m always up to my ears in deadlines and it can put a damper on my mood sometimes. (làm tuột mood)
7. have one’s hands full: to be so busy that you do not have time to do anything else
E.g.
(+ V_ing) —> I’d love to help but I've got my hands full organizing the school play.
(+ with V_ing) —> Diane has her hands full with housekeeping chores and a new baby.
1. Do you like cooking?
Well, actually I have a very hectic schedule at work, so as you can guess, I don’t have much time or energy left to make my own meals when I get home, even though I must say I’m a big fan of cooking. Sadly, I got no choice but to eat out.
2. Do you use email at work?
Đi làm, bận cực kì, nên có email cứu mạng tôi (a life saver), vì email cực nhanh và tiết kiệm thời gian (thay vì gửi thư như trước), vì thế tôi sử dụng email hằng ngày.
Well, I’m always up to my ears in work, so I must say email is a real life saver, ‘cuz it’s a super efficient and time-saving way to communicate, compared to sending letters or snail mails you know. So that’s why I use email on a daily basis.
3. Do you often celebrate your own birthday?
You know, life today is getting more hectic for everyone, and I’m no exception. Somehow I’m always drowning in deadlines at work, so as you can imagine, I barely have any time to unwind, let alone celebrate my birthday.
Cheers

nuclear disaster Fukushima current

Hi everyone, this is Day Farm 777.
My question for you is this: do you think rebuilding after the Tohoku disasters is almost over?
Is this still on your mind at all?
Because it hasn't been on the news, does it feel like everything is back to normal?
The footage I'm about to show you is from February 25th, last month, that day it snowed in Tokyo.
These places are very dear to my heart. The Naraha and Soma districts of Fukushima Prefecture...
The training grounds under Coach Troussier, Mommy suiton soup, Naraha rest stop... hot springs...
For people whose hearts reside in Kanto, these should all be very familiar.
You only need to take a short drive on the Joban Expressway to get there,
to a place where the fight to survive continues to this day...
