美國的The Great American Song Book就是一個把不同作曲家的經典標準曲收集在一起的非官方歌集，而《Song Book 歌集》的專輯名稱就是根據這個概念而衍生出來的，藉此賦予Cantopop更深層的文化意義，視Cantopop為一種應被認真看待及傳承保育的文化產物。鍾一諾在《Song Book 歌集》選唱了12位香港作曲家11首由1981年至2002年期間出版的作品 -- 包括粵語流行曲先驅顧嘉煇、許冠傑及林子祥，作曲巨匠林敏怡、盧冠廷、鍾肇峰及柳重言，電子搖滾殿堂劉以達、黃耀明及蔡德才，以及較近期的重要唱作人張佳添及林一峰。除了那12位作曲家的作品外，鍾一諾亦寫了《星聲夢裡人》向每一位為香港這地方譜寫過美妙「樂章」的作曲家致敬，感謝他們用對此地方的愛譜寫出屬於香港自己的歌集。

《Song Book 歌集》是香港首張亦是世界音樂史上也極罕有的歌聲／鋼琴二重奏的大碟。著名天碟監製張景謙亦形容《Song Book 歌集》「已經在香港音樂上締造了歷史，而且更會是一張經得起時間考驗的出色作品！」得到Tony Bennett/Bill Evans1975年的經典歌聲／鋼琴二重奏大碟啟發，鍾一諾構思這專輯時希望回歸音樂的本質，讓聽眾可以不需要太複雜的雕飾下欣賞到純粹一部鋼琴與一把歌聲的交流對話！

A Canto Jazz Vocal Piano Duo
Performing in Cantonese, their new album titled, “Song Book” is award-winning vocalist Roger Chung featuring Jezrael Lucero on keys is a selection of jazzed up cantopop standards from the period 1981-2002. This Hong Kong Song Book concept is inspired by the Great American Song Book, which is an unofficial collection of songs from Broadway musicals, Hollywood movies and classic tunes popular on the radio, such as Somewhere Over the Rainbow (from The Wizard of Oz).

First of its kind in Hong Kong, and one of the very few in the world, “Song Book” is a vocal-piano jazz duo concept album which has been descried by Hong Kong’s own grandmaster of audiophile production Clarence Chang as “instantly creating history.” These cantopop standards are performed in a style that is reminiscent of the classic Tony Bennett/Bill Evans vocal-piano duo album released in 1975, the 40s-60s supper club lounge shows and speakeasy jazz bars. The lead-off single is 'Stardust Melodies', which is dedicated to all the composers who have written beautiful “melodies” for Hong Kong ...

A short documentary about Bill Saxton, a veteran saxophonist and his intimate Jazz Club in Harlem called Bill’s Place.

Bill was born and brought up in Harlem before his family moved to the East Village. After many decades, he returned to his neighborhood and opened an intimate Jazz club called Bill’s Place at 148 West 133rd Street, in a charming little brownstone apartment. Little did he know that this little brownstone, that can sit no more than 25 people, kept untold secrets and unheard musical notes hidden within its walls.

During the 1920s prohibition era, Harlem’s Jazz reigned supreme. In this musically rich period, a famous speakeasy joint known as Tilly’s Chicken Shack attracted singers and performers and dancers from all over, and it was in same brownstone building where Bill’s Place stands today.

This is the place where Billie Holiday and Fats Waller first performed during their early days. Bill shares this rich history of the golden era of Jazz and swing with his patrons that that flock to this place every Friday.
