El vicepresidente anterior de Taiwán, Chen Chien-jen, dijo el miércoles que Taiwán ha donado y seguirá donando suministros y equipos médicos para luchar contra la propagación de Covid y contribuirá a un “fondo mundial de salud” que EE.UU. planea establecer en una cumbre internacional virtual convocada por Joe Biden.
台灣前副總統陳建仁週三時於一場由拜登所召開的國際視訊高峰會上表示台灣已經而且會繼續捐贈醫療物資來幫助對抗全球疫情，且會幫助美國成立「全球衛生基金」。

En un discurso dado por Chen, expresó que gracias a la colaboración entre sectores públicos y privados, Taiwán ha aportado 54 millones de mascarillas quirúrgicas y equipos de protección personal a más de 80 países. Añadió que el “Modelo de Taiwán” muestra lo capaz que es una democracia madura a la hora de trabajar transparentemente y aprovechar tecnología para combatir el virus. Hizo hincapié en que Taiwán no dejará de seguir ayudando a todo el mundo.
在陳前副總統的演講中，他感謝台灣公私部門的合作，讓台灣得以捐贈出了5400萬片醫療口罩及其他個人防護裝備給超過80個國家。他表示台灣模式成功展現出一個成熟的民主制度是如何利用科技與透明治理達到有效抗疫。他也強調台灣會繼續援助世界對抗疫情。

Asimismo, agradeció a EE.UU, Japón, Lituania, Eslovaquia, Chequia, y Polonia por haber compartido vacunas con Taiwán en medio de la escasez de dosis que enfrentamos en Taiwán.
同時，他也對美國、日本、立陶宛、斯洛伐克、捷克跟波蘭表示感謝，感謝他們在台灣面臨疫苗短缺之際分享給台灣疫苗。

La participación del exvicepresidente en una cumbre sobre un tema de salud internacional es una rara oportunidad para Taiwán, ya que Taiwán está excluido de la OMS por oposición de China.

Solidarity and cooperation among the nations of the world remain key to combating our shared enemy, COVID-19. It is important that the world recognizes Taiwan as a key stakeholder in the global quest to end the #COVID19 pandemic and build better health security for all.

On the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, US President Joe Biden hosted the Global COVID-19 Summit: Ending the Pandemic and Building Back Better. POTUS clearly understands that #TaiwanCanHelp —our former Vice-President Chen Chien-Jen 陳建仁 was prominently featured among other heads of state and leaders from international organizations, the private sector, philanthropies, and non-government organizations attending the summit.

VP Chen assured his host and other participants that Taiwan will uphold its resolve to support our friends around the globe during these trying times. Taipei will continue to donate medical supplies to help fight against the spread of COVID-19, and will contribute to a global health fund that the United States plans to establish.

China's fear prevents Taiwan from participating in the World Health Assembly. This is to the detriment of everyone, as our nation has proven to be resilient and resolute in facing the pandemic. Knowledge is power, and we wish to share ours to foster equity. That being said, it is encouraging to see that Washington is helping to devise alternative channels which enable us to do our part in strengthening the global public health regime.

Taiwan's former Vice President Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) said at a virtual global COVID-19 summit convened by U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday (U.S. Time) that Taiwan has and will continue to donate medical supplies to help fight against the spread of COVID-19 and will contribute to a global health fund that the United States plans to establish.
