美國百老匯教父級人物 #史蒂芬桑坦（Stephen Sondheim）在今天早上歡慶九十大壽。許多音樂劇場圈的演藝人員輪番上陣為其祝壽，透過視訊演唱的方式，在線上串流了前無古人的眾星雲集虛擬演唱會。

史蒂芬·桑坦與電影的淵源也不淺，他的作品《#瘋狂理髮師》、《#西城故事》、《#魔法黑森林》都曾被改拍為電影版，他為電影《#狄克崔西》（1990）所譜寫的一曲"Sooner or Later (I Always Get My Man)" 也曾獲得奧斯卡金像獎最佳原創歌曲。
　
去年他的作品更是蔚為潮流，在以下奧斯卡大片中都有其歌曲的蹤影：《#小丑》（“Send in the Clowns”）、《#婚姻故事》（“Being Alive”, “You Could Drive a Person Crazy”）、《鋒迴路轉》（“Losing My Mind”）。而電視影集方面，Netflix 的《#大政治家》 （“Unworthy of Your Love”, "The Ballad of Booth"），以及蘋果的《#晨間直播秀》（“Not While I’m Around”）也都不約而同地納入了桑坦的作品。這些都再再說明了他的作品對當代美國影視文化的重要性。
　
接下來，名導史蒂芬史匹伯也將帶來新版的《西城故事》電影，由安索·艾格特與瑞秋·曾格勒主演，目前訂檔今年底上映。而另外還有兩部桑坦的音樂劇作品正在籌拍電影版本。一部是由《#愛在三部曲》導演 Richard Linklater 所翻拍的 “Merrily We Roll Along”，導演預計花 20 年的時間，遵循《#年少時代》模式，忠實拍攝演員隨著歲月流逝的樣態變化。另一部則是請到《#愛留在海灘那一天》暨知名劇場導演 Dominic Cooke 將他過去執導過舞台版的 "Follies" 也搬上大銀幕。
