During our Japan trip, we visited Uji, one of the earliest site for tea cultivation in Japan. Uji Stn. is 40 mins away from Nara Stn. and about 17 mins away from Kyoto Stn. Despite the rain, we still made it to the famous matcha shop in Uji - UJI Matcha Shop - which was just a minute away from the station.

Byodoin Temple has about a thousand years’ history. The Phoenix hall, named after its shape and the pair of phoenixes adorning the roof, is the famous view in Japan replicated on the front of the 10-yen coin. Remember to bring a 10-yen coin with you so you can grab a photo when you are here! ☺

From Uji Station, we headed towards the popular tourist spot - Fushimi Inari Taisha. A direct train brings us to Inari Station in 20 minutes. (Inari Stn. is 5 mins away from Kyoto Stn.). The JR West Rail Pass made travelling convenient and smooth as there was no additional cost for transport required.

The Fushimi Inari Shrine, with more than 1,300 years of history, is just across the road from the station. It is said that if you walk around the Torii, luck and good fortune will be brought upon you. The shrine remained crowded yet peaceful in the drizzle; we are glad that we didn’t give this a place miss.

Second day of Kyoto we only manage to do one more temple which is walking distance from our ryokan. Kiyomizu temple. And third day we took jr train to arashiyama.
Both days were raining, it's not that nice or fun to walk around. I believe during spring and autumn, these places must look stunning.

I so wished to wear kimono, but it was raining for three days!!!!! And I see how troublesome it is for those tourists to walk around these places in their kimono under the rain, carrying umbrellas. Hence, gave up the idea.

懶趴(難波)五人組:木雨 木星 泣兒 黑鬼 南智 一行人在宇治的記錄 : 平等寺, 宇治神社, 在寒風細雨中來回步行一個小時才到的吊橋, 結果不是這一個(這不是真的 不是真的...無語問蒼天😭) 因此趕不上一間必去抹茶店, 才遇見另一家匠心獨具的抹茶點心也很讚!

🎎不期而遇未摘花的屋舍, 令我想起源氏物語中主角在此偷情的種種...小說中平安時代的風華, 栩栩如生。

♨️️最後和宇治的阿嬤們一起洗澡, 愛上第一次在日本的大眾浴池經驗, 有坦誠相見, 貼近當地人的fu, 看見阿嬤關節綁著蹦帶也要自己洗身驅 , 另我學到堅強💪, 宇治值得再次造訪, 細細品味!

Uji is such a breathtaking beautiful city, and famous for it's Matcha. I'm sorry about that all the beautiful landscape and experience can not be capture in this Vlog, (such as public bath, and walk so long to a hanging bridge in the hard wind and rain) they are in my memory. No pain, no gain.

🙏I still hope you enjoy these leftover experience in this Uji travel vlog. I can only tell you, I want to visit Uji again and again. It's worthy to visit.
