🎞 Exactly one month ago when ‘Parasite’ won the Golden Globe, the Korean director Bong Joon Ho had said “Once you overcome the one-inch tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films.” It seems like the Oscars 2020 has proved that this “one-inch tall barrier” has finally been conquered. Bong and his colleagues have achieved the impossible for Asian cinema when they become the first foreign film to win ‘Best Picture’.

Also, they are bringing home 5 other awards including ‘Best Director’; ‘Best International Feature Film’; ‘Best Original Screenplay’; ‘Best Production Design’ and ‘Best Film Editing’.

台灣柔道史上第一人、奪世界柔道大滿貫金牌！她是連珍羚、為了夢想一個人去到語言不通的日本進修柔道。而這次的比賽她讓世界看到了台灣的柔道！
台湾の友だちが柔道の国際大会で世界一に。

「因為在台灣柔道不太有名，所以我想要變強。
然後，讓世界看到台灣人的柔道。」連珍羚
她終於實現了。

The world champion from Taiwan.
Her name is Lien Chen-ling (連珍羚), the woman who reinterpret the history of judo in Taiwan via claiming the gold medal in 2017 Judo Grand Slam Baku. In order to reach the goals and dreams, she went to Japan for further athlete development in Judo and overcome the language barrier.
Her hope is that those in Taiwan who saw her judo matches in the competition, including those who might never have watched judo before as well as those were already practicing judo, might have discovered a liking for it and could help encourage the growth of Judo in Taiwan.
“I wanted to make history for Taiwanese Judo” she said.

And now, she finally reaches her goal.
