First of all, you need to apply for a bank letter online,

Before you arrive the college, JB will send the mail to you include this link, and it need three work days, you should complete all columns. Otherwise, the finance desk will send the other mail to you and ask you provide your information, if you don't provide it, they would not do your bank letter.
Secondly, you need to make appointment in Bank you want to open, during the induction week, there are many students, when I know I need making appointment of it, it has already full until to 21st. Oct.. It means if you make it too slow, you would not open a bank account in early weeks.
Third, got a bank account in your mailbox in the college, then bring your passport, BRP, bank letter to the bank you applied for bank letter.
If you want to open a bank account in Barclay, they will provide some days for international students, you don't need to make appointment, just go there along.
Mine account is Lloyds, you would not get any bank book, only the handbook for introduction your account. However, you can choose you would like having current account, saving account or both. Then they will give you everything that you transit the money from outside of UK need. Then, after a week, you will received the debit card, they sent to my college mail box.

在你抵達英國之前，學院就會寄信教你申請，因為這需要三個工作天的時間，記得他要求的所有資料都要填寫，堧他們就會寄一封信教你補上，他們也部會繼續進行你的申請。
給了他們全部的資料，確定你三天後會拿到信以後，你還必須要去銀行預約他們的開戶時間，我就是太晚預約了，當時已經排到21耗了，這樣代表著，你來這邊，第一、二個星期都沒辦法開戶。但是Barclay有幾天是專門給國際學生開戶用的。
最後帶著你的護照、bank letter、BRP那些的資料，尤其護照一定要帶，然後就可以去銀行開戶了。他們這邊好像都不會給你存款簿，都是網路銀行，自己去查資料。因為我來有帶旅行支票，我存進去的方式，就是給銀行行員，然後他給我一張收據，叫我回去網銀確認........但是開lloyds 的好處是，你去開戶時，所有要從國外轉帳的資料都會一起給你，還會給你一本小本子介紹你開的帳戶類型。 你可以選擇活期'、定期，也可以兩個都選。但是定期的saving accout，不能拿錢出來，所以一定要先轉到current account.
