A normal adult human body is consist of 206 bones. Human skeleton can be divided into 2 main parts-
Axial skeleton & Appendicular skeleton.
Axial skeleton-
It can be further divided into 3 parts. The number of each bone is given-
Skull- It has 29 bones-
Cranial bones (8)-
The occipital bone
The parietal bones(2)
The frontal bone
The temporal bone (2)
The sphenoid bone
The ethmoid bone
Facial bones (14)-
The nasal bones (2)
The maxillae (2)
The lacrimal bone (2)
The zygomatic or cheekbone (2)
The palatine bone (2)
The inferior nasal concha (2)
The vomer
The mandible

Middle ears (6)-

人體裡,最小的骨頭!
你知道是哪一塊嗎?
講到人體裡最大的骨頭,相信大家都很容易猜到,是我們的大腿骨(femur)啦!不過,最小的你又知道是哪一塊嗎?
是人體中耳內的三塊聽小骨(auditory ossicles)裡最小最小的鐙骨(stapes)。到底是有多小呢?
聽小骨共有三塊,他們都是按著形狀來命名:
· 錘骨(malleus)-形狀猶如錘子一樣
· 砧骨(incus)-形狀猶如砧,以前一種用以放置物體鍛打的堅硬平面,廚房的砧板則多為木製。
· 鐙骨(stapes)-形狀猶如鐙,為安放於馬鞍旁邊,令騎者更容易在鞍上坐穩的腳踏。
錘子般的錘骨為最外面的聽小骨,與砧骨相連,而砧骨則與鐙骨相連。錘骨將力傳到耳蝸,三聽小骨利用槓桿原理來放大聲音。因此當空氣傳至末端令到鼓膜(eardrum)震動時,在旁的錘骨會受影響而震動,經過砧骨傳到鐙骨,繼而刺激內耳。這三聽小骨,雖然「骨仔細細」,力量卻很大!沒有他們聽覺也會受到影響。簡單來說,三小骨的距離控制了聲波的大小,而這個距離都是以肌肉所控制的(即:三小骨的距離越近,聲波就越大)。
一般在搜索及尋找骨骸,特別是挖掘工作時,這三小骨很容易就被忽略在泥土之中,以為是砂石,繼而丟失。所以,一般在看到相對完整的骨骸,特別是頭顱骨時,會異常小心清理耳洞的部分。因為只要撥走後,之後就很大機會找不回來。我曾將在已經碎掉的頭顱骨裡的耳洞找到了所有的聽小骨!當下滿足感爆燈啊!(看看下圖的連結,就會知道為何我滿足感會瞬間遞增,哈哈!)
