陳漢藝就任美國在台協會高雄分處文化新聞官

陳漢藝 (John Slover)於2015年9月15日就任美國在台協會高雄分處文化新聞官。

在此之前，陳漢藝任職於美國駐杜拜領事館以及美國駐吉隆坡大使館。在加入美國國務院之前，陳漢藝曾在上海擔任作曲工作。他於上海音樂學院取得作曲理論博士學位，並於曼哈頓音樂學院取得音樂學士與碩士學位。

陳漢藝土生土長於科羅拉多州丹佛市。他曾於1999-2001年居住在台灣，在台中度過大多數的時間。他很高興回到台灣。陳漢藝通曉中文、波斯文和台式手語。

John Slover Assumes Duties as Public Affairs Officer of AIT’s Kaohsiung Branch Office

John Slover began his tenure as Public Affairs Officer of the American Institute in Taiwan’s (AIT’s) Kaohsiung Branch Office on September 15, 2015.

Mr. Slover has previously served as a Foreign Service Officer in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Before joining the Foreign Service, he worked as a composer in Shanghai, China. He holds a Doctor of Letters degree in Music Composition and Analysis from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, as well as Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in Composition from the Manhattan School of Music.

Mr. Slover was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. He previously lived in Taiwan from 1999 to 2001, spending the majority of his time in Taichung. He is thrilled to be back in Taiwan. John speaks Mandarin, Persian, and Taiwanese Sign Language.

AN INTIMATE NIGHT WITH ROZZ AT NO BLACK TIEs

Rozz is no stranger to No Black Tie and is a performer who is bold and a far cry from being generic.

Trained as a classical vocalist by Anne Ridgeworth at the tender age of 4, ROZZ pursued his vocal training through the years with the privilege and help of world-renowned vocal coaches, Imogen Casares and Christine Weitz, who developed his Jazz and Improv technique.

The major influences on his singing comprise of an eclectic mix: from the likes of Barbra Streisand, Joan Sutherland and Freddie Mercury to Grace Jones and Diamanda Galas.

Upon completion of high school in Penang, ROZZ furthered his education in Theatre Studies and International Relations in the United States, after which he eventually arrived at the epicentre of the actor’s domain in New York City where he was featured in on and off-Broadway productions.

One has to witness ROZZ perform live to truly comprehend the phenomenon of his fascinating and commanding presence, complemented by his amazing vocal prowess.

Always searching for a challenge, this time Rozz tackles songs with a more serious feel to them. An Intimate Night with Rozz will showcase a "raw" side of Rozz, the singer.

Born in Miri, Sarawak, classical pianist Hii Mei Lin holds a Master of Music Degree and Professional Studies Diploma from the Manhattan School of Music in New York. There she studied with renowned teacher Zenon Fishbein who later appointed her as assistant teacher in his studio. Prior to that, she was a student of Michael Ruiz at the American Conservatory of Music , Chicago where she graduated her Bachelor of Music Degree.

Mei Lin has performed in piano masterclass with world-renowned pianist-teachers such as Leon Fleisher, Byron Janis, Nina Svetlanova and the late Shura Cherkassky. She also received many valuable lessons from Russian pianist Alexis Golovine while residing in Geneva, Switzerland.

As the winner of 1995 Artists International Competition in New York, Mei Lin made her New York debut recital at Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall to a dazzled audience. In the following year, she was awarded the R. Rubinstein Award for Outstanding Woman Pianist in New York among others and dazzled audiences in her New York debut at Weill Hall, Carnegie Hall.

This is set to be a night that diffrent from the usual "Rozz" show.
