在COVID-19疫情爆發前,就有1/3的婦女認為她們的生產是創傷的,多達20%至48%的產婦符合部分PTSD的診斷標準。一項收集59個研究的回顧報告,一般社區型樣本因生產造成創傷後症候群的盛行率是4%,在高風險族群更是高達18%。
🤔我們要小心在COIVID-19疫情期間,造成更高盛行率創傷後症候群,以及對經產婦造成二度傷害的可能性。
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, one third of women perceived their birth experiences as traumatic (Reed et al., 2017). As many as 20% to48% of all women who give birth meet some diagnostic criteria for PTSD (Alcorn et al, 2010).The results of a recent review of 59 studies showed that the mean prevalence of PTSD related to childbirth was 4% in community samples and as high as 18% during pregnancy and the postpartum period in women who were considered high risk (Yildiz et al., 2017)

“Okay korang. Saya nak share dan hopefully dengan nasihat ni, anda mungkin akan dapat manfaat. First things first, health is wealth. Memang ayat itu cliché tapi, kalau you sakit, kos merawat, tekanan mental, tekanan kepada diri sendiri dan orang sekeliling tu kadang kala menyesakkan.
I hope sharing ini memberi manfaat pd orang lain. Here it goes:
1. Umur saya 30 tahun. Saya dikira masih muda. Sepatutnya kudrat kuat, kan? Tak patut byk penyakit dan cuti MC. Ini usia emas utk kerja keras, berhibur dan beribadah sepuas hati.
2. Saya ada 2 orang anak. Should be okay kan? Normal je bersalin 2 orang.
3. Saya bekerja sebagai dentist. 120km berulang alik setiap hari. Selama 3 tahun lebih fokus pada klinik endodontik, banyak kerja halus dan membongkok dan duduk yang sangat lama.
4. Saya aktif dari kecil. Saya main hoki, futsal, badminton, bola jaring, bola baling, sofbal, bowling, berenang dan kadang kala hiking dan merentas desa. Saya juga pergi gym sekali sekala. I try to stay fit.
5. Tanggal 26 November 2020, usia 30 tahun, saya tempang, x boleh berjalan. Di tempat kerja, saya pergi kerja tanpa sebarang kesakitan pagi tu.
6. MRI dibuat- ada SLIPPED DISC (mild) dan bengkak di spinal cord juga. Kalau tanya dr ramai akan kata, its not much.
7. 17 hari cuti sakit dan 9 sesi physio dan berehat. I feel fit to go la kan!
8. First day kerja, gradually mula limping, by petang terus tak boleh jalan. Kemudian body weight saya tekan pinggang sehingga sakit. Broke down and cried di situ. Diangkut dengan stretcher.
9. It was a muscle injury. To be honest diagnosis sukar sebab mengandung. Dr kata unpredictable. You were well and it happened. Worst. Prepare for the worst. Ini baru awal. Tekanan perasaan? Keliru? Takut? Ya bayangkan. Kerja jauh, bakal duduk seorang, mengandung lagi. But i dont want to complain. Saya nak penyelesaian. Dr tak boleh kata lagi. Kena tengok progress pregnancy.
10. Punca? Trauma jatuh, poor posture bekerja, long distance poor posture driving/lack support belakang, prolonged sitting, kurang stretching, overworked muscles.
11. Kawan2, muda tak semestinya sihat. Jagalah badan. Jangan jadi macam saya. Please exercise. Please jaga posture badan. Jangan duduk terlalu lama, 30 minit je bangun perlahan dan stretch. Jaga berat badan. Aktifkan diri tanpa cederakan diri.
12. Sebelum bersukan stretch. Know ur limit. Satu lagi, pastikan cukup air dan kalsium/magnesium dalam pemakanan harian.
13. Selagi masih sihat dan muda: AMBIL MEDICAL CARD TAKAFUL!
Kos penyakit saya, tknn emosi, kewangan sbb kena physio, you need private one juga utk consistent, ubat hosp, terpisah dgn keluarga, tak mampu buat kerja @ aktiviti yg kita suka.
Think about it. I didn't ask for this.”

my mental health is better now then it was during confinement, promise ?
if you’re a mom to be.. please please please watch that video. I didnt expect postpartum depression to hit me that hard, but it did.
for me, pregnancy&labor wasnt as hard as postpartum was. postpartum was the hardest part of the whole motherhood journey so far.
so I hope my video will somehow make a new mom out there feel a little less lonely.
