【這本書特別的地方】
.
閱讀這本書的過程中，最讓我感到驚奇和新鮮的，莫過於作者虛構出的「莎拉」這個虛擬角色，以及與她展開的對話。莎拉是一位創業新手，想要用自己的烘焙技能創立一家餡餅店「餡餅的一切」。她經歷了創業之初的熱情澎湃、創業之後的困惑和煎熬，在與作者進行許多場談話後，漸漸突破「創業者迷思」，邁向企業家的思維模式，懂得如何讓企業的經營走上軌道。

書中分成三大部分：創業迷思與小企業、統包革命是一個嶄新的企業觀點、建構一個運作順暢的小企業。在其中的每個小章節中，作者會在章節的前半段談比較「硬知識」的部分，然後在後半段放入她與莎拉一對一的「創業Q&A對談」，讓讀者可以用一種很親切的方式，跟著莎拉的視角去釐清自己對於創業這件事情的所有疑惑。

透過這樣的寫作手法，讓我感覺自己就很像是另一位「莎拉」，整本書讀起來就像是跟作者坐在壁爐旁邊閒聊，時而嚴肅、時而詼諧，對我來說是很特別的一次閱讀體驗。以下，我想分享一些這本書帶給我的觀點啟發。

【創業的必備條件？】
.
成功的創業家都具備一個關鍵心態：「好奇心」。因為重點不在於原本懂得多少，而是在於想要懂得更多。作者評論道：「事業上面表現優異的人之所以會有優異的表現，不是因為他們知道的什麼，而是因為他們總是想要知道更多。」

作者輔導過數千位小企業家，他所遇過的失敗企業，大部分的通病不在於企業主對財務、行銷、管理和經營知識不夠，而在於把時間和精力耗費在捍衛自認為對的事情上；反之，他所遇過最棒的企業主只會不顧一切地釐清問題。這就像《心態致勝》這本書提到的「定型心態」和「成長心態」的差異。企業和人一樣都應該成長，而成長會帶來改變。

「大多數的企業都不是依照這個原則在運作；大多數的企業都只是依照老闆『想要』的方式，而非企業『需要』的方式運作。」創業者的工作就是保持好奇心，就是去想像，去做夢，盡其所能地去探索飄蕩在他頭頂上的方天馬行空，以及他內心深處的各種可能性。不是緬懷過去，而是展望未來。

【什麼是創業者的迷思？】
.
書中提到最普遍的「創業者迷思」就是一心想跳出來自己當老闆，渴求自由和掌握感，想要用原有的專業來加速事業，賺取更高的收入。結果常見的狀況是，創業家把焦點全部放在商品和服務，忘了企業應該要有組織、有系統地運作，投入了大量時間和精力卻換來更多苦惱，結果讓自己原本喜歡的工作到頭來變成了苦差事。

問題出在於，許多「想要」創業的人們，往往是擁有某個技能的「專業人員」，但是單純要以專業來創業是不夠的，我們還必須具備其他兩種角色的特質和能力，也就是「管理者」和「創業者」。

1. 專業人員：喜歡深思，活在現在。善於執行，喜歡動手做，一直想著如何把事情做好，認為想法必須可以執行才有價值。
2. 管理人員：喜歡苦惱，活在過去。非常務實，要事事都可以預測，希望任何事情都井然有序，總是會發現問題。
3. 創業者：喜歡做夢，活在未來。富有遠見卓識，激發改變。天馬行空的想像力，追求夢想。具備創意創新，喜歡探索未知的事物。

若只從專業人員的心態來創業，總是會覺得自己該完成更多事情、做出更好的產品、提供更多的服務，對於自己的產出總有著一股優越感和不可取代性。但作者提醒了：「如果企業是全部靠你在支撐，你擁有的就不是一家企業，而是一份工作。而且這會是全世界最糟糕的工作，因為你是在為一個瘋子做事情。」

許多人以為的創業，其實並不是創業，反而是創造了一份給自己更辛苦的工作。

作者發現，許多在創業之後失敗的小企業主，大部分是把自己太多的比重放在「專業人員」，而忘了投入心力在「管理者」和「創業者」的思維模式，以至於後來把自己的事業變成了「最糟糕的工作」。懂得在三個角色之間取得平衡，便是這本書談到創業家最重要的行動課題。

【創業是為了什麼？】
.
作者認為：「創業的目的是為了擺脫一份工作，以便為其他人創造工作。創業的目的是為了拓展你的事業，以便創造出某個事物，滿足市場上某個從未被滿足的需求，以拓展你的生命，為生命帶來新的刺激。」我們必須將事業打造成一個在未來能夠自動運作的有機體，這個事業的運作不是因為你，而是因為沒有你。

對專業人員而言，產品是他交付給「顧客的東西」（商品、服務）。

對創業者而言，產品是「企業本身」（企業的運作方式）。

有一句話是這麼說的：「好的企業靠得不是不凡的人，而是平凡的人做者不凡的事。」要讓平凡的人做出不凡的事，就必須存在一個系統，也就是一家企業做事情的方法，讓無論什麼程度的員工都能幫企業產生出一致的結果。打造頂尖的商品和服務固然重要，但是對創業家而言，建構一個企業的運作方式才是更值得投入心力的地方。

【後記：創造事業？創造自我？】
.
這是一本讓我「大開眼界」的書。作者一開始從很務實的角度說明常見的創業者迷思，提醒了隨時要留意專業人員、管理者、創業者三個角色的分配比重。但是，光有創業的想法是一回事，執行創業計畫又是另一回事。所以在書本的後半段，作者更提供了企業發展計畫的七個關鍵策略和步驟，仔細說明該如何執行這份計劃。

此外，我很喜歡書中把「創業」和「個人」連結起來的觀念，尤其以這句話令我印象深刻：「一家企業象徵了他們想要過的生活，顯示了他們是怎樣的人、他們的信念為何，也證明了人的意志。」我們無法改變外在混亂的世界，但我們可以改變自己。試著去瞭解自己的世界如何建構、如何運作，設計自己的遊戲規則，創造一個屬於我們自己的世界。一個人在執行一家小企業的創業過程，就是探索這個世界和自己的最好途徑。

在這本書的尾聲，作者引述這句話送給莎拉：「自由不只是對某個決定表達是與否，而是塑造與創造自我的力量。」當我讀完了整本書，藉由莎拉的視角與作者進行這麼多場空中對談之後，聽到這段話感到格外振奮，內心激動的同時又多了點沉著。

用創業家的態度過生活，是一種人生選擇，也是一種自我實現。
