Ever since I introduced my childhood video game Super Mario Bros, my eldest @kingstonleekc has been engrossed with this character. He has been able to name me the characters. From Mario to Bowser, from Toad to Waluigi. Characters which I didn’t even know. All I knew were Mario, Luigi , Princess and Bowser. And im not sure why, he told me his favourite character is Bowser Junior.

Hmm.. Not sure I should be proud of it. But well. He promised me and @wongmewchoo that his excitement with Mario won’t slow down his education, so I will just let him and his bro a half an hour Mario time a day. Funnily, he is quite disciplined with the half an hour permitted. However he uses most of that half an hour to surf YouTube videos on how other players play the Mario games. From the Mario bros 2 which I played when we were young till now the Mario Odyssey series.

Well, today it’s his eighth birthday. No big fancy gifts. All we wanted to do is to give him something that make him smile. So Bowser Junior it is on the cake!!

Haha. Couldn’t explain how big the grin was when he saw these two cakes. It’s like an Awie fan seeing Awie’s face on a cake. That happy!!

Kingston, Happy Eighth Birthday. All daddy and mommy hope from you are for you to grow up to be a good man, and have many good reliable friends. Also… also, please don’t ever feel entitled. (Not sure about other parents out there but that’s the worry I have for my sons)

November is an important month for our family because of two important dates: the 10th of November, Mamajee’s birthday, and the 14th of November, @drauntie.uk’s birthday. Even though Mamajee is no longer with us, we are still celebrating his birthday, but in our own way. So this year, Omar Mukhtar, Fatimah, and Ali have joined up with the rest of our family to do charity on behalf of their Mamajee.

This year is extra-special because we’ve also decided to do charity for @drauntie.uk as well. Even though she is still with us, there’s no greater gift we could give her on her birthday than charity under her name!

Omar Mukhtar has used part of the sales of his book #MNPOE for this charity. We never mentioned this before, though, since we didn’t want to use charity as a selling point for the book. So to those kind-hearted people who have supported Mukhtar’s book, please know that part of your money has been given out for this charity, and you too have contributed to the cause!

Fatimah and Ali didn’t want to miss out on all this, so they both took some money from their savings to join in - bless them! And to those who bought @drauntie.uk’s book #ASpoonfulOfPain, your money has been used to contribute to this as well. With all the money in total, part of it has been used to distribute packed food at Pondok Pasir Tumboh in Kelantan, with the help of Dadajee, Dadijee, Masi @ilurvesugar and Uncle Muhammad.

The rest of the money will be used to buy food to distribute to the homeless and needy in the UK. When Mamajee was still alive, this was what he loved to do on a regular basis. He would buy food and give it to the homeless - sometimes, he even cooked and distributed his home-cooked food! And when he was studying in Le Cordon Bleu London, he even shared all those delicious cakes, pastries and whatnot that he made with the needy. So what we are really doing is just continuing his legacy.

May The Almighty accept all of our good deeds & purify our hearts from riya’. Aameen...

At this age, all you wanna do is enjoy some food and conversation with friends for your birthday. I’m thankful for all the bday wishes from everyone around the world.
So many cakes this year too, all really thoughtful and delicious. This one really surprised me though.
She said one day : Who is your favorite basketball player?
Me : Huh? Why so random?
Her : Just answer
Me : Ok, Jordan I guess.
Her: What??? I thought it’s Kobe!
Me : Why would you say that? Just cause some login name I used since college has that in it lol.
Wait, you didn’t buy me a Kobe jersey for my bday did you? Or hopefully not some Kobe shoes, cause that’s the last thing I need.
I hope it wasn’t too hard to change the cake’s face to Jordan 🤦🏻‍♂️. Thank you regardless.
