HÃY THỬ TRẢ LỜI CÂU HỎI SPEAKING PART 2 - DESCRIBE YOUR FUTURE JOB NÀO!

--------------------------------
Describe a job you’d like to do in the future.
You should say:
- what it is
- what you will need to do
- how demanding it is
- why you are interested in this job.
When I read the cue card, the first thing springing to mind was to become an interpreter.
An interpreter is someone who has acquired an oral fluency in another language apart from his mother tongue. His mission is to convert spoken language from one language to another to help people from different countries communicate with one another.
It entails listening to, understanding and memorising content in the source language, then reproducing it in the target language. Sometimes, an interpreter has to cope with stress and take his self-control when dealing with difficult speakers. Not everyone speaks with precision and clarity and of course, accents can be tricky to discern. Interpreters, therefore, need to keep their cool and remain relaxed, even in seemingly tough situations. I think the job would be very technically demanding and challenging, but very exhilarating to do.
The reason I have a particular liking for this job is that I think I have developed essential skills to do it well. I study the English language at university and to be specific, my major is translation and interpreting. Despite the fact that I have yet to be fluent in English, I think I will be in the next few years as I keep practicing the language and improving myself in other fields to broaden my horizons. On top of that, it may give me opportunities to travel or to work in a multi-national company where I will meet new people from all over the world, and learn about their cultures and experiences.

=================================
--------------------------------------------------
1) It’s not that
--------------------------------------------------
“It’s not that”は「〜というわけじゃない」を意味する表現です。“It’s not that”の後には、下記のように文章が続きます。
It’s not that I don’t want to go.
It’s not that I’m upset.
日常会話では“It’s not that ____. I/I’m just ____.” また、“I’m just”の代わりに、“It’s just that”が使われることもよくあります。
→ It’s not that I don’t want to go. I’m just exhausted.
→ It’s not that I don’t want to go. It’s just that I’m exhausted.
→ It’s not that I’m upset. I’m just a little disappointed.
→ It’s not that I’m upset. It’s just that I’m a little disappointed.
ちなみに、“It’s not like ____.” Help me out.”
<例文>
It’s not that I don’t trust you. I’m just worried about you.
It’s not that I don’t want to go. I actually really want to go to Okinawa with you guys. It’s just that I can’t afford it right now.
Don’t worry about making mistakes. It’s not like English is your first language. Just say whatever comes to your mind.
--------------------------------------------------
2) Just because A doesn’t mean B
--------------------------------------------------
“Just because A doesn’t mean B”は「Aという事実があるからといって、Bだとは限らない」といった意味になります。 例えば、ハーフなら英語が話せると思い込んでいる友達に対して「ハーフだからと言って英語が話せるわけじゃないよ」と言う場合は、“Just because someone’s half doesn’t mean they can speak English.”
<例文>
Just because you’re rich doesn’t mean you’re happy.
Just because you live in the U.S. for a few years doesn’t mean you can become a fluent English speaker.
Just because it’s more expensive doesn’t mean it’s better.

Learning languages is hard and boring, but what if you could all of a sudden speak one instantly without the years of studying it would normally take? So today I teamed up with my Korean friend Danne, and using a special tech setup I put together myself was able to have her speak fluent Korean through me! She told me what to say through an earbud in my ear, and because she was also able to hear what I was hearing she was able to conduct the conversation on my behalf. I can’t believe this actually worked; I was able to have conversations with Koreans in fluent Korean even though I’m not actually able to speak Korean!

Today I’m talking with Luke Ranieri (@ScorpioMartianus) who literally speaks fluent Latin and conversational Ancient Greek. He’s part of a small community of speakers around the world who have kept the Latin language alive, even though as a native language of Ancient Rome it died out over a thousand years ago. For him, learning Latin is about the community but most importantly about accessing the huge body of literature, ancient and modern, written in Latin. It was really cool to hear him talk about the way that his ability to speak Latin has allowed him to empathize with ancient Roman literature at a much higher level.
We talked about what Latin sounded like and how he and people like him have accurately reconstructed the pronunciation — he’s not just making this stuff up! We also talked about learning Latin and the way Latin is taught in high schools in the U.S. and the U.K., and as you can imagine Luke certainly has a lot of thoughts about that! I studied Latin and Ancient Greek in high school and it was interesting to compare experiences with Luke.
Make sure to check out Luke’s YouTube channels at @ScorpioMartianus and @polýMATHY
