Wonder how your journey of lenses been?
Mine been like this
When I started with Canon 500D/550D
1. Kitlens
2. Nifty 50 because so much recommendations by friends
3. Tamron 70-300mm f4-6.7 needed more tele lens (recommende by camera shop, which should not trust)
4. Used old Canon EF lenses, 28-105mm f3.5-4.6 and 70-210mm f3.5-4.5
5. Vintage legacy lenses via adapters, Olympus OM Zuiko 50mm f1.4 , Vivitar 28mm f2, Tokino 85-200mm f2.8
6. Used Sigma 28mm f1.8 getting more serious
7. Used Canon 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 completing whole 3.5-4.5 range
Changed from Canon to Panasonic G6
8. Adapters and speedboosters from ebay
9. Fujian and unknown brands experimental C-mount lenses
10. Starting buying Native m4/3 lenses first is Panasonic 14mm f2.5
11. GFC1 adapter to get more wide angle lens
Added Panasonic G7 for 4k
12. Panasonic 7-14mm f4 lens for a lighter setup than using 10-22mm from canon plus wider that 14mm with fisheye adapter.
Added GH5 for 4k 50p
13. Olympus 12mm f2 so I can get a wide shot but also better low light.
14. Panasonic 25mm f1.7 which I saw nice bokeh shots, but after using it was not that great
15. 42.5mm f1.7 which I like a lot for better bokeh shots.
16. Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 as curious using this more pro lens also added 3d printed focus rings to it, still want to buy a Metabones speedbooster for it though.
Actually also whole range of sony e-mount next to this but already sold most of it now.

This is a test video with plenty of sample filming with Yongnuo 100mm f2 on a Sony A7rii via a Sigma MC11 adapter. Just filming around Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong trying out filming plenty of variations of shots and B-Rolls, capturing neons and reflections through puddles of water.

This was a late night testing the Canon 70-210mm f3.5-4.5 just to see how it does for videos on my Sony A7s with a Commlite adapter. The 70-210mm f3.5-4.5 is quite affordable option if you cannot afford the Canon 70-200mm f4 L as you can find it for around 100bucks or even less second hand.
To find this lens 2nd hand on Ebay please follow this link:

Personally I do like how it renders blurry backgrounds and does have a certain filmic look. But one thing is filming at 210mm you really need quite a distance between you and the subject, but this lens does not have any stabilisation and probably be nicer to use on the markii series of the A7 cams, as these were filmed on a monopod but still hard to hold it steady while filming at 210mm, otherwise a tripod is really required. Macro wise using on a full frame its not that extreme, but on APSC crop mode it does help more getting the image closer for a macro. Overal do like the looks of shots and do feel its more filmic then a 50mm f1.8 with it looks, but its not so great but wide shots indoors but usable for macro shots, but do need a tripod instead of a monopod to make it easier to use and lessening the shake and drift.
