"While the exams are important and they are a major milestone, please remember that whatever grades you receive, they do not define your life, your character or you as a person in the slightest. You are worth so much more than the piece of certificate you are going to take home and I hope you know that. Values such as honesty, kindness, independence, creativity, reliability and perseverance are the things that I see in you but will not be written on the paper, which is why I need to tell you so that you will know how amazing you are. You are an incredible gift that we treasure so deeply and you've lit up our world since you came into it."
Here's sharing heartfelt letter I wrote to my firstborn who will be taking her PSLE exams in three days' time. You've got this, dear Angel!

M A S T E R C L A S S ❤️🤲✨ Here we go again, another eight weeks of unlearning and listening. Another eight weeks of holding sacred space to just slow down and pause. Quietly curious, an unfolding, both for the mamas that I lead and lead me to sacred inner worlds to repair and hold in reverence.
It’s an invitation to come home, to come inside to hidden places and loud thoughts that sometimes explode out when it hurts or we feel lost and overwhelmed.
The intense pressure of motherhood and fatherhood wears on a marriage so we make safe space to play, ask, laugh, cry, see.
Eight weeks and for some, an additional one-on-one centered around science and play, an action plan tailored intimately to their family created over conversation and partnership. Fuel for all the days and weeks after the program, a guide of sorts to remind them of their why and how and what.
We call it a groundbreaking rework of traditional parenting programs. But that’s just really fancy for we do it a little different and start with you. We take the science of what we know and use it to fiercely listen and fight for the child inside and in front of you, and you don’t have to do it alone. We gather together, make mistakes, share our stories, care deeply and cheer each other home.
What does your head and heart know?
Five cohorts in, each one unique and magically special to the little community that they build. I love that they come from around the world and all have such depth and beauty to add. We teach people, not topics. We go rogue. We run wild. We get curious.
For mama, it is a welcome to my heart. Carved out in there is all the mamas and daddies and their little ones that have come before. When you come through the program, you are intimately fought for, genuinely loved, relentlessly believed in. Known and called by name.
September 2021 cohort, we are so excited to welcome you not only to the program but to the village.
We’ve been waiting for you. We are ready. ❤️✨
Let’s grow together. 🌱

Grief.
It's something no one wishes to experience. Yet, it happens to everyone at one point or another in our lives. Actually, it doesn't happen just once. The older we get, grief will come knocking on our doors every once in a while because that is just how life works .While I've always tried to look on the bright side of life, July was truly a turbulent and depressing month for me.
You see, while still dealing with the shocking local news regarding mental health issues and trying my best to have an open discussion with the kids as we head into the exam period, my own world fell apart when I was informed that my beloved grandma was hospitalised and in a coma.
For the next two weeks, it was terribly dreadful that we couldn't visit her due to the pandemic restrictions. We had video calls with her almost every day to tell her we love her and gently urge her to wake up but I wanted to be by her side so, so badly. My spirits were lifted when my Mum told me she opened her eyes and we even heard her saying "Bye bye". Surely that is a good sign and she is getting better, right?
Alas, things deteriorated swiftly and by the end of that fortnight, she decided to leave this world. I can't go into details now without being a wreck because I just miss her so much and have so many regrets. For now, I am working on gathering her photos and making a video so that my kids will always remember her. I guess when I am ready, I will dedicate a post to her and pour my feelings out. But for now, I'm just not brave enough to do it yet. In this post of "Happiness is...", I've realised it's okay to sometimes be a little lost and a little sad.

Episode 131, A Textual Analysis
===============================
We open with Char sitting too close to the screen who goes on to tell Bell not to sit to close to the screen. In the background is Purple Pony - not sitting too close to the screen and the only blameless character in this entire story. Bell ignores mom's instruction and makes a virtue of sitting too close to the screen by pulling faces. She gets so close she accidentally nudges the camera.
[The opening "Hi" was from later in the VOD and got pulled to the front to set up Char to fail.]
As Bell runs out of and back into shot, we get the first hint of the cooped-up energy that will power the following drama. A misunderstanding occurs between touching and moving - in the literal interpretation of a three year old, accidentally touching the cam isn't deliberately moving it. The potential for conflict increases.
Char rightly involves Bell in her hair drying choices and the shot finishes on Purple Pony exhibiting an expression that tells us what it takes to survive in this household; Pony's seen things we people wouldn't believe.
Char is attacked by her own domestic appliance, makes an appeal for sympathy but gets a wide Pony grin. She puts on a brave face, Bell attempts her first strangulation then possesses the stream, Char gives her first 'not like this' speech explaining why Bell and chores don't mix. Bell proves she and chores don't mix by jumping on freshly folded laundry which fully triggers Char leading to Act 2.
Act 2 - full Bell meltdown. Char's ultra-mom skills birth Bell off the bed and slowly out of the world of pain she created for herself but she's still full of "no". Char counters with breathing, hugging and drinking but Bell responds by banning her from talking to Chat. Char deploys an entire bookshelf plus water plus science in what is rapidly becoming turn based combat then Bell makes a fatal mistake. Instead of banning mommy from making animal noises she instead bans Chat from reading a book we can't see anyway (well, she is only three!). Bell is slowly running out of "no", Char corners her into talking about her feelings (scary, am I right fellas?).
Act3 - age check, strangle #2 and Bell's in possession again. Char counters with "hug" but Bell cruelly starts to follow her knowing full well mommy's got more used to losing followers than gaining them. Bed incursion and the stream is knocked flat, Char enters the fray but Bell kicks clean over her to floor the stream again - our vision's blurred: medic!. Then Bell shows how she did it by kicking her mommy but it's too late: we lost this one Chat. A knockout, two falls or a submission, them's the rules. Game over.

「Me Too I Am
“Me Too I Am We are together”
This is our third year at Taichung Pride.
In 2017 we were on the stage advocating for marriage equality
In 2018 we were promoting ways to vote for queer rights in the referendum
In May 2019 laws were passed for same sex marriage, we moved a step ahead
However, there is so much more to be done.
Think about gender equity education, parenting rights, non-national couples
The queer population wants to be understood
We want to live freely as our true selves
Free from discrimination, in a world that welcomes us.
The theme for 8th Taichung Pride in year 2019 is #MeToo
It brings our focus to the hidden sexual violence happening in the society
It can happen to anyone, any gender, any sexual orientation
We may not know how to seek help, or how to help others
The organizers of this year’s Pride want to help us understand this a bit more
So that we can identify what is not acceptable
And we can prevent these from happening
A big thanks to the organizers for the Taichung Pride
Thanks to the volunteers and police officers
Thanks to everyone helping out
Thanks to all of you who were here, and those who wanted to be here but couldn’t
At the end of this video you will be able to see the wedding of a gay couple
We hope you will be encouraged by the love here
So that you will be brave and march on in your life.

Last weekend, I’ve spent another quality bonding time with my kids as we carried out the last Friso Gold challenge activity - making a Cardboard City activity. I’ve experienced clearly that from this natural and spontaneous activity, it allowed me to enter my child’s world and understand them better through their play and stories. As you can see, my daughter shared a lot of things including everything she likes throughout the process. ? It is such a great practice to enhance parent-child interaction and communication. Well, we had fun and we will definitely continue to capture our natural parenting journey! I hope all moms can try do the same and start your own natural parenting journey with your child. ❤️
For more @frisomumgoldmy natural parenting challenge activities, you can log on to Friso Gold Malaysia’s official site to try and carry out the activity and watch the videos as well okay ??
