「Zero1 Classic TypeF」それは、私たちが具現化したAPPEARANCE OF SPIRIT(魂の形)である。
走りの機能性と安全性の最良のバランス。それが、ゼロワンの基本理念といえる。
私たちが考える最良のリアルスポーツが、ここにある。「Classic TypeF」のデザインは、決して流行を追わず、時流を気にせず、スポーツカーへの情熱を妥協することなく形にしたもの。
すべての視線を奪うほど斬新でありながら、時を重ねても色褪せることのない強い力を持った形。本当の美しさとは何か。
「Classic TypeF」にその答えがある。
1997年グッドデザイン賞受賞
キットカーと呼ばれるプラモデルのように自分で組み立てることが可能な50ccクラスのマイクロカーシリーズの開発も手がけている。
ユーザーが組み立てるキットカーの販売については、会長の光岡進と社長の光岡章夫との間で意見の相違がある。現社長である章夫は、利益の上がらないキットカーの販売は取りやめるべきとしていた。一方、会長の進は、キットカーこそが光岡自動車の創業の意義であるとし、継続を主張していたが、結局進のほうが折れた。その後50ccのマイクロカー「K-3」を100台だけ限定生産し、2006年11月にキットカー「K-4」の受注を開始、限定220台で発売した。このキットカー「K-4」を最後に2サイクルエンジン搭載のミニカーは生産終了となった。なお「K-3」は発売後一週間で全て売り切れており、プレミアをつけて転売している店も存在する。

I deal with the development of the microcar series of the 50cc class which I can assemble with oneself like a plastic model called a kit car.
