Incoming Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is unlikely to soften his country's foreign policy toward Beijing, despite his leanings on the dovish side of his Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) on China issues, a Japanese scholar said Wednesday.

日本自民黨新任黨魁，也是第100任內閣首相岸田文雄Fumio Kishida，對付中國將是岸田內閣的首要問題，面對中國侵略式的外交和經濟，岸田提出深沈的警告，也將在各個面向努力，確保日本的安全和利益。
經濟是岸田施政的焦點，「經濟安全」會是他的優先工作，如何在地緣政治上，確保日本經濟安全。
面對美中爭奪科技主導權，日本與美國、台灣、韓國將協調確保戰略物資供應鏈，例如半導體。
將在「分配正義」上著手，要把經濟的果實分享給經濟上的中下階層。
在軍事上，將強化自衛隊角色和戰力，特別強調，面對鄰近的威脅，日本必須具備源頭打擊敵人基地的導彈能力，而不是滿足於攔截來襲的飛彈而已。
在外交上，強調維護自由、民主、國際規範、人權這些基本價值，與理念相同的國家，像美國、歐盟、印度、澳洲等，共同對抗獨裁政體，也會在印太地區扮演更積極的角色。
在人權上，將設置「首相人權輔佐官」，將發動調查包括新疆維吾爾族等人權議題。
在黨務上，岸田提出黨改革方案中，最受矚目就是黨幹部任期以一年一任最多三任為限。目前幹事長以輔選有功的麻生派眾議員甘利明呼聲最高，岸田也承諾將重用其他三位競選者河野太郎、高市早苗及野田聖子。
Dealing with China would be a top priority in his government, Fumio Kishida, a contender to succeed Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, told Nikkei, expressing “deep alarm” at Beijing’s aggressive behavior on the diplomatic and economic fronts.
To protect “basic values such as freedom, democracy, the rule of law and human rights, we will work with those that share the same values, such as the U.S., Europe, India and Australia, to stand against authoritarian systems,” Kishida said in an recent interview.
Economic security is high on his agenda. As Washington and Beijing compete for technological dominance, Japan, the U.S., Taiwan and South Korea are scrambling to coordinate to secure supply chains for strategically important goods such as semiconductors.
“I will protect our nation’s geopolitical interests with a focus on the economy,” he said.
On defense, Kishida emphasized the need for the capabilities to strike enemy missile bases to prevent to an imminent attack. “Even if missile defense systems block a first attack,” having capabilities to attack enemy bases could “protect people’s lives if a second or more shots are being launched,” he said.
吐瓦魯呼籲 承認台灣人民進入聯合國機構場域的權利
吐瓦魯總理拿塔諾表示聯合國成立的宗旨在於服務及保護全世界人民，所有人民進入此一國際大家庭，都不應受到阻礙，這是所有人民的權利，而非部份人民的特權。
台灣人民無法參訪聯合國及參與會議，台灣媒體和記者也未被允許入場採訪聯合國會議及活動，進入聯合國場域竟是以國籍而非以安全為考量，這是不具正當理由的，聯合國的公民空間和新聞自由正被限縮。
吐瓦魯呼籲，承認台灣人民進入聯合國機構場域的權利，允許台灣護照持有者進入聯合國場域，是台灣和台灣人民有意義參與聯合國體系的重要關鍵。
台灣的夥伴價值，值得聯合國重視。

"Mr. President, I thank you for the recognition that to build resilience, we must respect the rights of people and that the UN must be revitalized to uphold the rights of all people of the world—people it was established to serve and protect.
On this very note, Tuvalu calls for the recognition of the rights of the people of Taiwan to the UN premises. The UN system was established to serve the public interest of all peoples. Having unhindered access to the family of nations should be a right for all, not a privilege for some.
It is most regrettable to see the ongoing injustice of Taiwanese people being barred from accessing UN premises for visits and meetings simply because the UN fails to recognize Republic of China (Taiwan) passports, which are, in fact, accepted by almost every country in the world. Likewise, Taiwanese media outlets and journalists cannot obtain accreditation to cover UN meetings and events.
It is alarming that civic space in the UN and freedom of the press are being restricted. It is also unjustifiable that a person’s access to UN premises now depends on nationality rather than on safety and security grounds. Granting Taiwanese passport holders access to UN premises is an essential step for the meaningful participation of Taiwan and the Taiwanese people in the UN system."
Taiwan's vision of global partnership can serve as a valuable reference for the UN.
