When I was in my early 20s, I remember this one time when I was bitching and complaining to my mentor Alan.

I said:

“Hi, Alan. I started all these businesses. And somehow, I’m struggling.

My customers are cheap. They’re difficult to deal with. I pay too much in taxes. I’m not making enough money and I don’t know why.”

I just rambled on and on.

Then I’ll never forget.

Alan turned to me and said: “Stop.”

I’m like: “What do you mean stop?”

He said: “Stop. It’s very simple Dan. Let me teach you something.”

Then he shared a piece of business advice that changed my life and I will never forget. A piece of advice I’ve gone on to share with thousands of people and changed their lives too.
