Explored a bit of Madrid Old Town on foot yesterday. The area is filled with character and atmosphere. There are many beautiful historic buildings, plazas and monuments. No two are alike, and the contrast between old and new is sometimes surprising. I peered into one building with a classical facade, to find an Apple store inside!
Caught the setting sun over the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), then ended our walk at the Mercado de San Miguel (Market of San Miguel) with delicious tapas. After dinner, I realised that a bit of Germany still remained – it had begun to snow in Madrid! – LHL
