【台美日英澳 GCTF 疫苗經驗交流】

台🇹🇼美🇺🇸日🇯🇵英🇬🇧澳🇦🇺在 #全球合作暨訓練架構 (GCTF)下，5/18舉辦線上國際研討會，討論「公共衛生─疫苗接種的經驗與挑戰」，除了衛福部薛瑞元次長外，線上共有教廷🇻🇦、奧地利🇦🇹、菲律賓🇵🇭及新加坡🇸🇬等共36國約135名官員及專家與會。

自全球COVID-19疫情爆發以來，GCTF已經6度舉辦與疫情相關的活動，也對疫苗接種訊息更加關注，本次研討會，讓與會各國透過交流疫苗接種的經驗，共同制定最佳疫苗接種策略，攜手對抗全球疫情蔓延。

外交部吳部長在研討會中強調，疾病無國界，台灣深刻瞭解與國際社會攜手的重要性。作為國際社會負責任之一員，台灣會持續努力克服挑戰，提升全球衛生安全。

#Taiwan, the #US, #Japan, the #UK and #Australia held a Global Cooperation and Training Framework workshop on the experiences and challenge of the #COVID19 #vaccine roll-out.

Delivering vaccines, getting them in arms and gauging side-effects present a big challenge for the international community, but #GCTF is here to help!

135 officials and experts from 36 countries, including #TheHolySee, #Austria, the #Philippines and #Singapore, attended the meeting virtually.

In his address to the workshop, MOFA Minister Joseph Wu stated that given the recent rise in locally transmitted cases in Taiwan, we can learn from the vaccine strategies of other countries taking part in the event, as well as sharing our experience in pandemic prevention.

A Scene of Heavenly Glory

“For you have not come to a mountain that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and to blackness, darkness, storm, the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which those who heard it begged that not one more word should be spoken to them, for they could not stand that which was commanded, “If even an animal touches the mountain, it shall be stoned”; and so fearful was the appearance that Moses said, “I am terrified and trembling.” But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable multitudes of angels, to the festal gathering and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better than that of Abel.” (Hebrews‬ ‭12:18-24‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Imagine the passage above as a scene in a movie. The person who wrote the epistle to the Hebrews described it most beautifully.

Picture this with me: a mountain on earth burning with fire, shrouded in blackness and darkness, with lightning streaking and thunder booming all around. This is Mount Sinai when the Old Covenant of the Law was given. A trumpet blast sounds and the voice of God gives a severe warning with a threat of death as two stone tablets of the Ten Commandments appears, floating in front of the screen.

Suddenly, the tablets are snatched away as if by a strong magnetic force and balanced upon Jesus’ hands right before the nails are driven into His hands. As the Roman soldiers hammer the nails down, the stone tablets are also attached to Jesus’ hands at the cross, crucified with Him.

Then, the camera pans upwards, zooming past the clouds. You see Mount Zion, the mountain of God in the distance, and the heavenly Jerusalem sitting upon it, radiating gloriously like a priceless jewel. Reaching a huge pearl gate of the city, the gate rolls aside, and myriads of angels fly across like a flocks of migrating birds, singing beautiful songs.

You see the river of the water of life dividing the city into half, with trees of life on its left and right.

The camera follows the river that proceeds from God’s throne, into His sanctuary at the highest point of the city, and you see the Father seated as judge over all, and standing on His right hand is Jesus smiling and His arms outstretched to welcome you with a loving embrace.

The scene ends with a close up on the ark of the covenant in the sanctuary that has the blood of Christ sprinkled upon the mercy seat, and the camera zooms into just one drop of His blood crying out for your blessing, redemption, forgiveness, favor, healing, restoration, and all good things as the credits roll.

🔊🔊Sound On for some awwws

It's 1.48am on a Friday night. I'm writing this as Layla is suckling away.

The last few nights she's been waking up 2-3 times a night and she suckles for much longer than usual. For quite sometimenow, Layla's been waking up either only once at night or sometimes none at all. I suspect she's teething. I know she's not hungry. I know she's just latching for comfort - comfort of being held to sleep in the warmth of my arms. She drinks for 10 mins and latches for 30-40mins refusing to let me go. She suckles harder when i try to pull away. Eventually i gave up, i just wait for her to release at her own time.

This morning i couldn't wake up at 7am to greet her. I was just so insanely tired. For the first time, i slept in and skip our morning playtime. It's taken a toll on me trying to manage both filming and motherhood.

I know i can just let her cry a bit and let my helper pat her back to sleep. I can 'sleep-train' her and toughen her up. But i choose her. There are nights where i had to literally roll myself off the bed, drag my feet to attend to her. But i still do. Because i know she needs me, for whatever the reason may be. Because i know someday, she'll not need me anymore. Because i know she feels better when I'm there with her.

The last 2 nights, when i go carry her at wee hours in the morning, she rewarded me with big, open-mouth, wet, sloppy kisses. The best kiss ever. That was all i needed to keep going.

Someday will be the last day. And til then, I'll savour all my moments with her. I'll indulge in her, as i allow her to indulge in me.

#可樂滷肉 Coke-Braised Pork Belly

-材料
豬梅花(或五花) pork collar butt (or pork belly) 400g
可樂 Coke 330ml
醬油 Soy sauce 100ml
胡蘿蔔 Carrot 一根
蒜頭 Garlic 3瓣
薑片 Sliced ginger 約3-4片
雞蛋 Egg 4顆
青蔥 1把
五香粉 five-spices powder
白胡椒 white pepper
黑胡椒 black pepper
豆干 一盒

1. 常溫蛋放入鍋中滾煮。
Boil the eggs.
2. 胡蘿蔔去皮，切成滾刀狀，蒜頭稍微壓扁去皮，切幾片薑片。
Peel and roll cut the carrots. Peel the garlic. Slice the ginger.
3. 青蔥打結固定。
Tie a knot to the green onions.
4. 梅花肉切大塊(用豬五花也可以)。
Cut the pork collar butt (or pork belly) into chunks.
5. 雞蛋撈出，泡一下冷水再剝。
submerge the eggs in icy water after boiling them.
6. 肉塊放進鍋中煎至四面金黃。
Saute the meat until it turns golden brown.
7. 放入薑片、蒜頭稍作拌炒。
Saute the garlic and ginger for a while.
8. 放入胡蘿塊拌炒。
Add in carrots.
9. 放回剛剛煎好的肉塊。
Add in the pan fried meat.
10. 加入一罐可樂(約330ml), 100ml醬油
Add in a can of coke, soy sauce, white pepper, black pepper, and five-spices powder.
11. 放入剛剛的青蔥及其他想滷的食材。
Add in green onion and anything you want.
12. 煮滾後轉小火燉煮一小時。
Simmered under low heat for an hour.
13. 中途加入雞蛋，繼續燉煮三十分鐘。
Add in hard-boiled eggs, and cook for further 30 minutes.
14. 一小時到了，可以關火悶30分鐘，再開火15分鐘。
Turn off the stove and set aside for 30min. Reheat it.
