Mineski DotA today announced that the team will be undergoing its reformation and plans to compete internationally in DotA 2 tournaments.
The task will be led by Chai Yee Fung (“Mushi”), international professional DotA 2 player, and Mineski Malaysia CEO, Yap Chee Loong (“Kenchi”). After its short hiatus, fans of Mineski DotA can finally look forward to the team making its return with a renowned player at its helm.
As part of the reformation effort, Mushi says that finding the right fit of players to begin this new journey with was extremely important. The team captain will be personally involved in scouting for players matching Mineski DotA’s drive to play at the highest level and represent South East Asia at the forefront of eSports.
“I’m greatly honored to become the team captain for Mineski DotA,” said Mushi. “After leaving Fnatic team, I received a call from Kenchi. He is one of the most respectable person in the eSports industry and is not just a friend of mine, but a mentor and brother to me. We both share the same vision for eSports and with his sincerity, he managed to convince me to play under the wings of Mineski DotA. Hence, we decided to work together to reform and put together a world class team.”
“Reforming Mineski DotA was one of my top priorities for the year 2017 aside from my cyber cafe business,” said Kenchi. “Having dealt with eSports teams, I know that the biggest challenge is in finding the right player - not just for their skills but also for the right mentality. Mushi was the first player that came into my mind when I saw the news about him leaving Fnatic team. With Mushi’s experience and his versatility as a player, his addition to the Mineski DotA team will definitely bring positive impact and exciting benefits.”
Mineski DotA will be unveiling the new roster that will be guiding the team to greater heights in the competitive scene within the coming weeks.
