Alhamdulillah. YB Fuziah (Kak Gee) who attended the PH - Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul meeting today, informed me that MOF is keen to produce a Gender Responsive Budget (GRB) with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) elements for the upcoming budget. If truly realised, it would be a positive step towards addressing gender equality, and future proofing Malaysia. She also informed me that Minister DS Tengku Zafrul showed interests in MPI as a tool.

KEADILAN MPs have been working hard on these matters as part of our pre-budget preparations led by Wong Chen.

Thank you very much for the stellar work done, Ale, Wong Chen’s officer - for collating all the written suggestions and recommendations over the many pre-councils between KEADILAN MPs.

Having completed our MPI survey, led by Professor Fatimah Kari & her team, local enumerators and our ground office - culminating in a finalised report on measuring the different dimensions of poverty (six conventional & 3 COVID-19 related) in Permatang Pauh, -it brings me pleasure to have my colleagues champion a more progressive and future proof measurement of poverty & its alleviation in the upcoming Budget and 12th Malaysia Plan.

Our office finalised a few recommendations to the MOF - specifically seeking an MPI centred approach to poverty eradication; and adoption of gender responsive measures in the dispensing of our national budget. The findings through our MPI survey confirmed that women headed households are in deeper financial crisis in comparison to conventional households - with a concerning intergenerational lack of social and educational mobility and increased food poverty amongst children.

As such - our national budget must be responsive to gender - a principle that carries through to the point of implementation. Since MOF limited reps to three from each party; I urged that YB Fuziah be included together with Wong Chen and our SecGen. Kak Gee (YB Fuziah) has been a long time advocate of gender responsive budgeting and together — the three of them also stressed the need for Malaysia to achieve the SDGs - specifically the 5th, in tandem with a more realistic measurement of poverty.

As for me; the task of briefing Minister Dato’ Seri Mustapa Mohamed on our completed MPI survey & our discussion on the key highlights to be raised during our 12th Malaysia Plan RTM session tomorrow night gave me some hope - of a new dawn in poverty eradication - if not necessarily, new politics 😅 Cautiously optimistic, bak kata Uncle Wong Chen.

Much to do - waver, we mustn’t.

2. 經濟自由
有伴侶的生活支出自然會多一點，少不免要送禮物、拍拖消費等等，所以單身人士可以享受經濟自由，自己賺錢自己花，少了情感的依靠，多出的時間正好為自己理財，讓自己財政穩定，追求自己想要的生活模式。

3. 事業向前衝
感情話變就變，只有自己的事業是別人拿不走的，有人熱愛單身生活，是因為他可以全程投入熱愛的工作之中，他從工作中獲得的快感超過一切。而且沒有伴侶或家庭的牽絆，轉工、轉行或者創業等「冒險」行為也比較無後顧之憂。

4. 發掘興趣和潛能
單身不等於寂寞，因為你有更多時間與自己對話，以及發掘自己的興趣和潛能，有伴侶的話很難花費所有放假時間去上課進修，或者全情投入工作以外的興趣，好好發掘生活樂趣是裝備自己的一部份，就算將來單身也好有伴侶也好，學到的也會一生受用。

單身生活要活得精彩，首要把自己照顧好，春天來了要防範濕重問題影響健康，記得每日飲用米水，有助健脾祛濕。

Four advantages of being single

In the past, a person who stayed single was often regarded as someone lonely, a workaholic or even a problematic person, but now, being single can be a choice.
Instead of forcing yourself to live with someone who has a different lifestyle from you, perhaps the better option is to live independently. There are many advantages of living alone, and we can use this opportunity to live a healthier life.

1. We will have more time for ourselves
Living with our significant other also means we have to spend time waiting for them. If they are habitually late, we would waste even more time. As single individuals, we get to do what we want at any time. At restaurants, we can get a seat easily since we are alone. We can arrange our daily schedule according to our wish – be it exercise, read books, go shopping, cook food, watch movies, or play games, and we will not waste a single second.

2. Financial freedom
Having a partner in life also means we would spend more on gifts and other expenses when we are on a date. As single individuals, we can enjoy greater financial flexibility and spend our money the way we see fit. Without emotional commitment, we can plan our finances properly and pursue the lifestyle of our dreams.

3. Become more career-centric
Relationships may not last forever, but no one can snatch our career away. Some people enjoy being single because they choose to pour their heart and soul into their work, and this gives them great satisfaction. Since they do not have spouses or families to worry about, they can change jobs, switch industries, or become an entrepreneur and not worry about the ‘risks’.

4. Explore potentials and hobbies
Being single does not mean we have to be lonely. If you have more time to understand who you are as a person, you will be able to explore your potential and understand what you are interested in. This is difficult to achieve when you have a partner because you will not have the time to attend classes or to improve yourself. Immerse yourself in hobbies other than your job can also help you appreciate life. Whether you will stay single or decide to be in a relationship with someone in the future, you will have, by then, equipped yourself with a lifelong knowledge.

In order to live a fruitful life as a bachelor or bachelorette, we must take good care of ourselves. Now that spring is around the corner, we must protect ourselves from the humid environment, which might cause dampness to our body. Adam, the first man, broke God’s command by eating from the tree that he was told not to eat from. Adam was originally appointed as the ruler of the earth, so when he sinned, his entire kingdom (the whole earth and its inhabitants) fell with him.

The devil came in the form of a serpent and tricked Adam’s wife Eve into eat from the tree, and Adam ate after being offered the fruit by Eve.

By heeding the devil’s temptation, the rulership of the earth was handed to him (Satan), and death came into the world because of Adam’s sin.

Ever since then, every man and woman was born with sin that is inherited from Adam, passed down via the genes. Man was in a desperate condition, cut off from God because of sin.

God loves mankind and doesn’t want man to perish in their sins.

Thankfully, the Son of God willingly chose to lay aside His divine glory and submitted to God the Father’s will.

He was born of a virgin, as a Man and named “Jesus”.

He grew up in obscurity, and at the age of thirty, began a public ministry of miracle healing, casting out demons, opening the eyes of the blind and making the deaf hear. He went about doing good in the power of the Holy Spirit, proving that He was God’s anointed one (the Christ).

After three and a half years later, Jesus was falsely accused of blasphemy and whipped until He was bleeding profusely from His body. He was subsequently sentenced to death by crucifixion, and had to carry a heavy cross to a place called Golgotha on Mount Moriah, and He was crucified there.

God the Father placed all the sins of the world throughout time upon Jesus, and unleashed the fire of God’s wrath as a punishment for all those sins He carried. Jesus was punished as if He were the worst sinner in existence.

For three hours starting from noon, darkness came upon the whole land, reflecting what was going on in the spiritual realm. Jesus hung there, being drained of His precious lifeblood for our sakes, and He endured every trace of punishment for our sins.

When every sin had been punished, Jesus cried out, “It is finished!” He gave up His spirit after completing His mission of being the perfect atoning sacrifice for our sins, and entrusted Himself into the Father’s hands.

Jesus’ body was buried in the tomb of a rich man, and the tomb was then heavily guarded by Roman soldiers and even sealed by the huge stone. This was to ensure that no one would steal Jesus’ body and claim that He had resurrected.

On the third day after His death, Jesus rose from the dead early at the break of dawn, and walked out of the tomb, phasing through the huge stone. He proved that He was a perfect, unblemished sacrifice, and death had no claim over Him (death can only fasten on a sinner because the wages of sin is death).

He appeared to His disciples and many others—multiple hundreds of people, before ascending to Heaven forty days later, and He sat down at the right hand of the Father, far above all principalities and powers.

Jesus was bestowed with the name that is above every name because He who is the King of all creation humbled Himself so low, even to the death of the cross, restoring what He did not lose.

This same Jesus who lives by an everlasting life and who will never die again, invites you to freely receive the gift of salvation from Him if you haven’t done so.

As the only begotten Son of God, the blood that Jesus shed for you is an overpayment for your sin debt which you owe God.

Just by believing and confessing Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, all your record of sins will be wiped clean by His precious blood, and you will be adopted as a royal priest in God’s family.

This forgiveness of sins comes through an everlasting agreement God has made through Jesus, called the “New Covenant of Grace”.

When you agree to be under Grace, you will become God’s beloved child, favored, blessed with every blessing, and an heir with an inheritance to receive and enjoy now, and in the eternal ages to come.

If you are ready to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior and enjoy true happiness with a quality of life called eternal life, just speak this prayer whenever you are ready:

“Dear Jesus Christ, I receive You as my Lord and Savior. I believe that You carried my sins as you hung on the cross and that you were punished by the Father for them. You were buried, and then you rose again on the third day as a proclamation that all my sins have been perfectly forgiven. I believe that I am now a child of God, forever saved, and greatly blessed because of Your precious blood that has cleansed me. Baptize me with Your Holy Spirit, clothe me with Your power from Heaven, and use my life for Your glory from now on. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, Amen!”

We're changing the paradigm of how to make strawberry daifuku! Is this the dawn of the new age of strawberry daifuku!? We wondered if we could wrap the strawberry whole and boil it, so we gave it a try!
Well, it's not a daifuku, but a rice dumpling... But it tastes like strawberry daifuku, so please watch with an open mind!
* Recipe * (Makes 9)
1. Add 15g of sugar to 90g of white rice flour and mix.
2. Color 90ml of water with red food coloring. If you use a liquid dye, one drop is plenty. We used two drops and the color was too strong.
3. Add 2 to 1 while watching the texture and knead. Adjust the amount of water to make it as hard as your ear lobe. (We used 75ml of water this time.)
4. Wash the strawberries well and cut off the tops. We'll use the tops later, so put them aside for now.
5. Divide 3 into nine 20g sections.
6. Spread each section out, put 5g of white bean paste and wrap up the strawberries.
7. Use a toothpick to poke six holes in the top. It's good to make the holes quite deep.
8. Boil for three minutes in boiled water. You may boil them a litter longer if you are worried.
9. Remove and place into cold water to cool.
10. Place on the strawberry tops.
11. Finished.(Bellsprout...)

Since sugar was added to the white rice flour, it can be kept in the refrigerator and be eaten the next day without going hard.

We also made a version where we wrapped the entire strawberry with the top on, but the boiling always made the color change, so we went with this method in the end.

いちご大福の作り方の常識をくつがえす！？　新しい苺大福の誕生です？生の生地で苺を丸ごと包んで、そのまま茹でて作れないかな、とやってみました。まぁ、大福じゃなくて白玉だんごなんですが・・・味はいちご大福だから、大目にみてください。

*レシピ*（9個分）
１．白玉粉 90gに砂糖 15gを入れ混ぜる。
２．水 90mlを赤の食用色素で着色する。液体着色料でしたら1滴で大丈夫です。今回、2滴入れたら濃すぎました。
３．１に２を様子を見ながら加え、こねる。耳たぶくらいのかたさになるように水の量を調整する。（今回 75ml入れました）
４．イチゴはよく洗い、ヘタを切り落とす。ヘタは使うのでとっておく。
５．３を1個あたり20g、9個に分ける。
６．５を丸く広げ、白あん 5gをのせ、４のイチゴをのせ包む。
７．爪楊枝の上部分で６に点々をつける。少し深めにつけるとよい。
８．沸騰したお湯で3分弱茹でる。心配ならばもうちょっと茹でてください。
９．冷水に取り冷ます。
１０．４のヘタをつける。
１１．でけた。マダツボミも...
白玉粉に砂糖を加えてあるので、冷蔵庫で保存して次の日でも固くならずおいしく食べられました。
ヘタを落とさずにそのまま包んだバージョンも作りましたが、茹でることによって、どうしてもヘタが変色しがちだったので、最終的にこの作り方で落ち着きました。
